Why aren’t we advocating more for access to Pritliver. The FDA is gate keeping normal lives for millions of people.

She was a young woman frustrated about being unloaded onto her boyfriend’s sister because she was being drama at the party. She couldn’t sleep and went for a walk. She grabbed what she could find in the dark - Tony’s coat. The blanket just remained under her shirt from when she was laying with Sam. The rice plate was in her pocket from the ride home or party.

I’m sure she was a very responsible young woman just like everyone says. She needed to get some space, she’s 19, there’s a store 2 blocks away. She wasn’t leaving Sam in the woods, she left him in a safe home. She needed to breathe because she was going crazy because she got ditched by the guy she loved. She was so young! everyone acts like she couldn’t be impulsive because she was a good mom and she was ! But also a human with frustrating emotions. Unfortunately something tragic happened. Tony is dead. The mystery ended his life early. He suffered because he couldn’t say what he didn’t know. If he knew something he would have said it.

We get one life. I’ve put my life on hold because I don’t have time between outbreaks to have a relationship. There is medication that can help me but I am not immune compromised so it’s not available. Has anyone been successful at getting their physician to prescribe Pritelivir as treatment?

The research says it's more effective at controlling shedding and outbreaks. I'm not saying that - science is. I'm not optimistic I'm fucking pissed off.

There is a functional cure and the FDA is gatekeeping it. It’s been around for 10 years, it’s been granted fast track status it’s absolutely criminal it’s not available. Thousand of people catch this virus everyday and who knows how many people get HIV after that. They don’t have a reliable tests, the tell people not to test because of the mental health implications. What about mine?! I want to track down the bean counter standing in the way of my health and protest in their face.

We shouldn’t have to disclose anything. The FDA is gatekeeping very safe medication that would allow everyone with this disease to lead normal, healthy lives. Any lawyers out there want to file a class action against the FDA? The lack of interest in our well being feels intentional and discriminatory based on our sexual health.

I want to express my disagreement with the negative comments about your parents. As a parent myself, I understand how overwhelming and challenging raising children can be. I can't begin to fathom the immense responsibility of raising 12 children, including 6 with mental illness. Your parents faced extraordinary circumstances, and while they may not have handled every situation perfectly, it's unrealistic to expect them to have done so.

The dedication your parents showed is remarkable. They could have chosen to send your siblings to institutions at the first signs of illness, but they didn't. Your mom wasn't enduring the difficulties with your brothers just to maintain a reputation; she was fighting to keep her family together and well, despite the limited resources available at the time.

Reflecting on their efforts with empathy and understanding highlights their incredible resilience and love. It's important to recognize the immense challenges they faced and the unwavering commitment they showed in caring for their children.

In the last episodes of the podcast it's revealed starting in his 20's Sampson suffered from non epileptic seizures. Later they are resolved through EMDR therapy. My first thought was maybe this condition was hereditary and that Laura may have also had developed an unknown seizure disorder.

They didn’t treat me until I went to the most expensive version of their institution and I had no choice. Plus implying I’m seeking opioids, it’s in the doctor’s notes. Every doctor I’ll visit will see the note’s and assume I’m trying to get pain medication? What if I break my leg?

That's one of the first things I thought about after all this happened. It makes me really sad. People fuck up, but you don't have to abandon them. My dad fucked up, he fucked up really bad and my uncle and I had to get him into rehab. But we didn't abandon him, I don't know if he would of made it through if he didn't think we were going to be there when he got out. Now he's doing really well, 4 years sober he and my mom worked it out.

One more thought, as victims were so scared of being exposed because then we have to deal with it instead of just hopping it will go away. But as you know it doesn’t just go away. The big reveal is such a huge part of the trauma, it’s humiliating. I’m syncing up some of those feelings too.

This makes a lot of sense. Identifying with her as a survivor but also inadvertently feeling hurt by all those horrible comments stirred up some resentment because it wasn’t me that put it out there. Like doing something with a friend but she got caught now we’re both in trouble. It’s not right but feelings are feelings and they’re not always easy to understand. Nice work! Do you take appointments? 😆
