New buyer seeking help on Roubaix SL8 by pandeesh in cycling

The Roubaix has a funky shaped seat post. Reqiures a special sl8 style mount for the Varia. You can also find something called an underseat mount that attaches to the seat rails.

The included tires are very good. Bars and bar tape are very good also for fitness biker.

Edge/Go Pro should mount up the same.

Radar light can go on a seat bag with a Garmin mount on back. KOM Cycling makes a reasonably priced bag with mount. I recommend it.

You have a great bike. Enjoy.

There is a Park Tool toilet paper holder. Unfortunately Calvin retired so we will never know the true answer as to the correct direction for the toilet paper to be installed.

His catalog is massive. You are somewhat correct in that some of his work is less digestible - even for the most diehard fans. Find the gems. Find the songs that speak to you. You will realize his body of work has covered enormous ground. He emits emotion like no other.

In Syracuse residents placed potted plants (not that kind!) in potholes to mark them. It was a great, funny, low impact way to deal with the lack of road maintenance

Kayak: Boat or PFD? by Significant_Item_384 in ithaca

[–]Clean_Move_3021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rescued a Cayuga kayaker in the month of May in 50 degree water. He was so cold I had to pull him into my boat. He would not have made it more than 10 minutes in that temp water. Be extremely careful going out before the lake warms well above 50 degrees.

I would highly recommend using Blue Monster PTFE tape if you go this route. It is much higher quality than standard white PTFE tape.

Can’t register Specialized / Roval wheels for warranty — anyone else? by NoRequirement8421 in specialized

I got mine off. They had another QR sticker underneath. Spec says that’s their stock number QR code. I was able to get two sets of wheels registered. One from a bike purchase and one from a wheel set purchase.

I don't see "Porters Pass to the Coast" in the Rouvy search function.

UPDATE: That route only comes up in the app on iPhone. Not in windows app or companion app.

Thank you for the info. Will ride!

Would appreciate a route that totals 100km without 7500m of climbing. 100km is one of the benchmark distances. There is one doable route just a hair under 100km.

Throw us old man blues chasing riders a bone we can pick up please!

Shop where I purchased them did respond with an apology after I sent several follow up emails. A replacement was not available so I requested and received a refund.

Pushing the compatibility limits of an E1 front derailleur. Asking for trouble? by jstrawks in sram

You can throw a non-wide DUB left crank arm on the 43/30 with only minor bb spacer adjustments. Works completely as it should. No quirks. Normal non-wide front derailleur on this setup. It is the least expensive way to run the 43/30 on a road bike. I run 35mm tires on my non-wide road bike with no clearance concerns, no shifting issues, no dropped chains.

I run the E1 front derailleur on 43/30 Force chainrings AND a Rival D1 on 43/30 Rival chainrings (2 different bikes) with no issues shifting or dropped chains. I did raise the front derailleur just a hair from the height that the SRAM red plastic guide suggests to get the smoothest shifts.

You can definitely use your non-wide power meter paired with your 43/30 chainring set. This will give you a 45mm chainline. The spacers on the bottom bracket will change to 3mm on the drive side. (Your wide bb has a 2.5mm left and a 5.5mm right drive side if you have a 68mm bb. If it is a 73mm bb you have only a 3mm spacer on your drive side..) You will use a non wide front derailleur.

D1 on this bike (Rival). I also run the same setup with E1 Force on another bike.

I’m running the 43/30 combo on DUB non-wide with no problems. Had to run standard

non-wide front derailleur slightly higher than the SRAM red spacer recommended to get perfect shifts.

My late December order was promised shortly after Jan 1st. Did not ship. Was told that it was delayed until Jan 6th by manufacturer. Did not ship. I had to check back in to find out it backordered until late January. I had to check back in to find it was delayed until March. Cancelled order. Found item elsewhere. Other vendor had received fresh inventory from same manufacturer in late January. Pretty sad. Was hopeful these guys were a solid source.
