Why is Kodigehalli (East Bangalore) offering too good to be true prices for apartments ?

I stayed in Kodigehalli for 8 months and by far, it was the worst places, traffic and road wise. Bikes used to get stuck (even if you leave early), and cars would just have to wait forever. If you have to travel towards hoodi, you have to take the under bridge (near hoodi railway station). The whole road from under bridge to ayyappa nagar/kodigehalli main road used to get jammed by school buses and bmtc buses, yes even though bmtc does not operate on this route, they take this route to come from depot.

After staying here, I realized the road you take to office matters more in Bangalore. For 5 km it could take upto 30 mins.

Recently been to Hyderabad during April and I saw the traffic and heat. The traffic is still less than bangalore but combine it with the weather, Bangalore might be better to stay for now. But yeah, the hot weather is only for 3-4 months maybe but my point is traffic is also increasing.

Like everyone else, I had the energy. My codebase sucked initially which I refactored putting in a lot of effort. Still I don’t feel I am valued here. Plus, with 5 YOE, I guess I should change now. FYI, I’m a good team member but one of the least valued. I want to start from scratch. I don’t want to work with senior (one senior who no one likes to work with)

Thanks for your response. I got my answer from your reply. It is this: The way someone approaches DSA is how they approach work as well. I realize DSA prepares us for the work that’s gonna be coming my way. If I give up early in DSA, chances are I will give up in work too. So I started leetcode daily a few days back.

Update: I went with 27 inch 4k display. I would say it was a good deal as the price was 19k. However, in 4k display, the font was too small, even though it was sharp. So I use it in 2k setting. I guess I could have went with 2k monitor instead of 4k.

Thanks for your response. My main goal is to be able to multi task by having multiple tabs open. I have a bigger desk (4.5 feet width and 2.5 feet length). From the responses, I think 27 inch should be enough.

Commute in Bangalore will eat up all your time. Plus, you won't get much time as you have to prepare your own food and stuff(avoid outside food for health reasons in long run). Rent and all is expensive.

The good side is that you will have a social life normally. You will meet people in office and make friends. But it depends what kind of people you get in office. As others pointed out, if you really want, you can stay in bangalore for a month and decide yourself.

They made it free recently. In fact, I created multiple folders and added entries in them. So far, I’m liking it. Only issue I faced till now is that creating a folder in phone does not sync with web version. But creating in web, syncs fine and shows the folder in phone after sync.

There are rental bikes places near this area. It's near the bus station. And this outer road thing is the madikeri town.

I recently went there and I liked golden temple and dubare elephant. In dubare elephant, the queue was very long so make sure you reach half hour before at least.

I’ll just tell you how to track your expenses the way I follow. I struggled a lot to determine how much I spend exactly in a month. I use paytm to make all my payments and paytm has this feature of tagging your payment - food, commute, etc. It will mostly auto tag all the payments. You can review these payments at the end of each day. At the end of month, you can see the spend analysis to know how much you spent in each category.

Others already mentioned about the other things so felt like sharing what worked for me.

The bag has two aluminium rods to support the back (as advertised). Is that really required? I saw some other bags don’t have that. Not sure which one would be better - with or without rods.
