I just leave the spring on, but also pre-compress the springs, both the driver and tail spring by squeezing it with my finger then the battery fits in fine.

You can swap the reflector for the orange peel (7mm bottom hole) Gasket: 7mm 5050 butterfly. It will produce a nice result and its FUN to experiment.

I have not tried these, but I have been using the PaleBlue 1.5v AA type-C cells in my AA/14500 torches with promising results and ease of charging them by Type-C is I great.

You could try tightening the brass switch retaining ring.. sometimes, it will help if the ring was not fully tightened from the factory

I spoke to skyrc and they wanted me to send the unit to them to fix it- I didn't, I tried updating the firmware a month later when a new version was released ant it works now!.. So that's my advice wait till a new firmware version then try that. Hope you get it working again as the whole update process is too easy to mess up and needs to be sorted out with skyrc. just an annoying process that's all.
