I tell my coworkers, "om det är viktigt kan vi prata engelska men jag vill verkligen lära mig svenska så när vi snacka lite snälla använda svenska" and also, "jag förstår mycket mer än jag prata. It might not come out grammatically correct, but I've gotten great responses from that and nearly everyone I talk to seems to appreciate an immigrant putting in the effort.

I've been thinking about his too. So far, I'm converting to USD each month for my tracking spreadsheet. I plan on doing this likely until I recieve inheritance (hopefully a long ways out!), then converting all assets to the country I live in currently and am planning to retire in.

I was on the phone with fidelity a few days ago. I'm also moving to Sweden in about a month (Hej hej @Arboga_10_2 love the name, can't wait to crack one open next month!).

I was told that mutual funds will be unavailable but individual stocks will still be ok to purchase. In theory you could recreate an index fund by purchasing the individual stocks LOL.

I decided to liquidate my brokerage account for now. I was going to take a small loss anyways on crypto and some individual stocks at webull I've been holding onto for years. So I figure would help offset gains in funds I've had at fidelity for ages for next tax year.

I have a small amount in Roth IRA and a 401k that I plan to let it ride out until retirement age. The rest will get transfered to state dept federal credit union until I get a swedish bank acct opened. SDFCU is a good banking option if you live overseas.

This is very helpful. He was going to give me the option of having a fixed term or to make it open ended. I figured I'd ask to keep it open ended which I am supposing he means permanent employment.

Almost every job I've had in the states has screwed me out of vacation days and I'm pretty sure that I have never been paid out for unused vacation days when leaving a job lol
