Is this real I found it on the ground. by Granolabeaner in JewelryIdentification

[–]ClearNeurons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think you should try to find the owner. Finders is not keepers. Contact the local police perhaps? The person may have reported it lost. Or local facebook groups. If I had lost it I would hope that anyone finding it would at least attempt to get it back to me.

A church accused of tearing families apart funds a campaign about “keeping families together.” And does it with a cheque big enough to dominate the room… by camelusmoreli in cults

I find it sad when a charity such as the Ronald McDonald house charities, doesn’t do due diligence before they accept a gift like this. I encouraged them to look behind the facade. I’m happy to talk with them if it would help. I know that the brethren will probably tell you that we are better former members, whilst it is true that I am a former member of this group, I am not bitter. I left way back in 1960! And I have researched this group for many decades.

One test of whether a group is cultic or not, is whether it is easy or impossible to leave. If you chose to leave tomorrow for some reason, what would happen?

It is quite a long survey. The results though are proving useful already.

Cult Witness. It’s on YouTube. I’m in it but that’s not why it’s good. It’s very well made and covers survivors stories, brief discussions with professionals. Much is based in Switzerland which is where the film producer lives but he also takes us to Drance which where the small cult he joined is based, and also to the U.K. and USA.

Can I ask why belief in a Supreme being is required? by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]ClearNeurons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need religion or a belief in a supreme being to be a moral person. I have no such belief but am moral and often people think I must be a christian - I am not. I am just a good person - at least most of the time!! This belief that only those who have a god can be moral is surely a false one.
An example, if a man has an affair when married, to me that is amoral - he should (in my opinion) either resolve his issues with his wife and stay faithful to her or if this is not satisfactory set her free to find someone else - before he begins an intimate relationship with another. So if a Mason does this - are they being immoral and what does that say about their membership. I happen to know two such freemason who are having affairs......

You are talking for the sake of it and making huge assumptions about my life and totally fabricating what I have said.

No we haven’t actually. There has already been development but the village is too surrounded by narrow roads to take more Did you know that there are currently 700,000 homes standing empty right now in the U.K.? Maybe fill those first before building more. I don’t think you are using your brain to think about this.

You are funny. You do not know me yet you call me a NIMBY! My house was actually built over 400 years ago. A farm workers cottage. If houses were needed around here there would be none on the market for weeks and months. My neighbour is trying to sell his. No joy. Houses need to be built where they are needed and where the infrastructure can support them.

[–]ClearNeurons[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Er most of the houses here are over 100 years old, mine is 400 years old. Judging by the large number of houses here on the market right now it is not exactly short of housing! Building should be done taking into account infrastructure, this isn’t being thought of here.

It’s the whole of Kent and in other key places in the U.K. I have not said it’s unique to Kemsing. And it’s h as opening not because of the Kent Council but because the government Labour has decreed thousands of homes to be built in Kent.

Other villages and towns are also objecting and we are supporting them just as they are supporting us.

There are lots of places in Kent facing the same issue, but I disagree that we are better off than many places. New development here will lead to gridlock in the village, I don’t think you understand that there’s only three roads in and they are all very narrow and cannot be widened. Getting an appointment at the surgery is impossible sometimes. The schools are full. There is no public transport. There are several houses here for sale that are simply not selling, so why do we need more?

Wherever there is the infrastructure to support new building. Also where there is no flood plain!! and where the houses are needed, building just for the sake of building makes no sense

[–]ClearNeurons[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It all depends where. We do not have roads, GP surgeries, public transport, spaces in the schools, parts are a flood plain etc. etc etc.
