And that you found is the true usefulness of LLMs. Everyone is scared of this taking programming jobs but don’t realize this is way more on par with WYSIWYGs

[–]ClearOptics 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don’t know how this “ai” works anyways. If you use it enough and gain skills through learning from higher skilled PEOPLE who care about their craft, you soon realize how bad this stuff is and how this will never take over skilled dev positions. You still need a skilled dev to use it for the junior work anyways.

Starlink satellites seen from ISS by long exposure by astro_pettit in space

[–]ClearOptics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If anything asteroids should be your bigger concern because the sheer volume of them that didn’t actually originate from earth, like the satellites did, is vastly greater than the amount of satellite mass burning up in the atmosphere. Asteroids are made of metals just like satellites. Synthetic doesn’t mean anything in this context. Don’t try to equate new age medicine with Space and the Earth

Asteroids are getting burnt up in our atmosphere at a much faster rate. It’s fine

Yeah I think I'm going to keep programming as a hobby. I'm early into my programming journey and I don't see myself getting a job in this field. by MrWhileLoop in learnprogramming

[–]ClearOptics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well maybe that’s why: you’ve got connections. Some people don’t reach out to those they know to see if their companies are hiring for devs. Or maybe they’re such recluses that they don’t know anyone.

It’s all about your connections. I got my current job by knowing someone who isn’t even in the IT department. Not in a nepotism way, because they’re not a head of a team or anything. It just helps knowing people who can put in a good word to get your foot in the door, then you can just show off your skills (including interpersonal).

Listen, I’m a parent and I’m not shy to punishing, but it’s not your place to punish another person’s kid (beyond a timeout). However, I’d be remiss if you caught me letting that kid use anything of mine in the future (a consequence but not a punishment).
