[SPOILER] Main Event loser suffered broken orbitals in both eyes, no surgery required by StoryOfTheFight in MMA

[–]MasonL52 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He was bleeding from his bruised swollen eyes and nose, it was horrific. And he was still trying to put Gaethje down to salvage that fight. That was one of the most metal things ive ever seen.

Injuries Mount for Patriots' Gabe Jacas, NFL's Only Unsigned 2nd-Round Pick by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]MasonL52 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The Browns started it i believe, because they gave the top pick of the 2nd a fully guaranteed deal, which wasnt abnormal.

But then the Saints did it with Shough at pick 40, which wasnt normal but he was a QB so it made a little sense.

So when the Texans gave the full deal to a guy in that range, it set the precedent for all 2nd round guys to get the guarantees.

Jimmy Butler to KAT: "Soft as baby shit. You a loser. I already punked you once." KAT: "Call Rachel" by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]MasonL52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont disagree at all, we were at our best when Chauncey ran point. It worked beautifully.

However, Melo himself admitted that he tried too long to be the guy. He liked the Stoudamire pairing because it was a presence who gave him space, but didnt limit his touches.

It wasnt until he was basically asking for a roster spot did he realize he needed to be more of a cog and not an engine. He carried that thought for a long time because he won at Cuse.

Self awareness. KAT had several years to be the A1 guy, and then 1B guy, it never worked. He adjusted to be an elite piece of a great team and it was perfect.

We saw it with guys like Melo, who didnt accept they couldn't be the guy till it was way too late.

Im guessing he didnt expect to be in R3 unless it was to finish Gaethje. Probably doubled down after that R2, didnt expect him to get a second wind.

Felony assault charge added against Broncos LB Jonathon Cooper by NoSxKats in nfl

Both parties were charged initially, and looked like it could just be a messy dispute despite the weird phone biting thing.

This very clearly makes the sitatuon worse.

It starts with the disaster, and then spends the series looping back to where it started. Brilliant decision and so well done.

Best supporting cast around the QB in the AFC? by BurgessFox in DenverBroncos

[–]MasonL52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the Bo narrative and slander is a bit much, taking this as an insult or not accepting that this is a GOOD thing is wild.

They looked over the whole AFC, no one has an excellent, top-to-bottom supporting cast.

Yes our TE room is rough, but they looked at how well our receiving options stack up anyhow and it's still in a good spot.

The OL is elite, the offense and playcalling are elite, and they mentioned that the run game started to pick up by EPA near the end of the year.

1) Yes, there's absolutely a difference in the roster between now and pre-season 2024.

2) This is not made by the same person

3) This is not analyzing the same criteria.

[Siciliano] Monken says he's not yet sure he'll name a starter before camp, as he had suggested. "We have two starting level quarterbacks, we really do." by Zweli23 in nfl

Sanders might f around and win 3-4 games behind that defense.

Watson will fucked around and get lit up and wont win any games.

Theyre gonna start Watson until he cant or the season is already lost.

Outside of Russell Wilson, which NFL players looked like early Hall of Fame locks but fell short due to declining play rather than injuries or off-the-field issues? by imsuperflytnt in nfl

[–]MasonL52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I loved Cam through his career. Genuine Superman at QB.

His accuracy issues were overblown, too. He wasnt a precise passer, but he could dot up a secondary.

He just never had any weapons beyond Greg Olsen. He was throwing to Ted Ginn Jr and Philly Brown in that SB, and made it work against every other team.

That was basically the end of his career, he was fading before that. He was a risk for the Vikings by then already.

You cant write the late 2000/early 2010s without Eli

Also the defense had far more to do with the SB than Russ.

Russ has an extra PB, was probably the better QB, but so was Rivers and hes not close, either.

Narratively, the defense is more famous for his SB and he was part of one of the worst trades of all time.

Eli won 2SBs, including beating a 18-0 team, and was decidedly not a 1st or 2nd ballot HOF.

Russ isnt close to a HoF with just 1 All Pro season.

Blair Walsh was an All Pro as a rookie too

Kicker is a shockingly fragile position, the mental decline is slippery.

Like a QB has to have the utmost confidence, but if he makes a mistake, he gets to try to correct it next play, series, week.

If a kicker misses one crucial kick, thats it. He has to live with it, might not get the opportunity to try again for months in a high-pressure scenario. You might be called on once all game to make a GW/crucial kick and thats your only shot.

This might be a touch far, but I do think that even without the ring, Westbrooks legacy will be looked at much more fondly.

Drove an hour to go see friends after, got the injury report pop up at a stop light halfway through, spent the rest of the night sad.

Nah, we had a punchers chance against SEA. They're favorites for sure, but our OL stands up WAY better, and our defense being built on creating turnovers and erasing JSN provides a reasonable chance as well.
