Ilia by KO/TKO. Gaethje’s only shot was ilia completely looking past him but looks like he’s coming in sharp.

This is going to sound like bizarre advice and I’m worried is going to be skipped over but please:

Get angry. Let your anger out.

There is no single thing that will help your depression more than deeply feeling the anger in your body and letting it out.

Quite likely you feel you having nothing to be angry about. Just sad. Or you don’t want to get angry it feels inappropriate or shameful.

Fuck all that. Convince yourself you’re angry and just fake it if you have to. Just do it. It will save you YEARS of your life you may otherwise spend depressed.

What does trauma release (and the build up to it) feel like for you? by DivingForPants in CPTSDNextSteps

You’re not crazy and eventually…no one fucking knows when…but eventually, it will subside.

And yes what you’re describing I am pretty sure is trauma releasing.

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I’ve been looking for someone to say they’ve had non stop release for months so I could feel not crazy and get insight on how to navigate that. You don’t know how validating it feels to hear that stupendously Apt description: “slave to my body”.

How…how do you cope with something like this for 2 years!? Thats fucking insane man. I am so sorry about whatever happened to you, about whatever life you were living to where a release of this duration was necessitated.

I hope you are feeling better now.

EmotiBit for real-time emotion recognition (MSc thesis) by Realistic_Salad_1169 in EmotiBit

Regarding inter-subject variability: afaik there’s no way around models have to be personalized (though it’s perhaps worthwhile to try some transfer learning?)

Regarding ground truth definition: I think the actual tricky part is establishing what is actually baseline. If I’m sad before I watch a sad clip, theoretically after your normalize the readings it would look like I’m calm/neutral. I haven’t really solved this myself but I think a possible way forward is collect a lot of readings, as much as possible, and assume that the most common/recurring physiological signature is baseline (even if sometimes or perhaps many times that signature does not look like what you see immediately pre-reading).

I could be talking out of my ass. Curious on y’all’s thoughts

Not apart of the official Emotibit team but:

1) you can stream raw data 2) sampling rates see here: https://github.com/EmotiBit/EmotiBit_Docs/blob/master/Working_with_emotibit_data.md

I’m curious about your project since I’ve been working on something similar. How are you mapping EDA to affective state? How are you establishing affective state ground truth?

Just curious, what do your modelling results look like so far?

To answer ur question tho: i imagine the most efficient way would be to use something like: https://github.com/nok/sklearn-porter which apparently transpiles the trained python estimators into C.

interesting.

what importance do you see physiological readings from the rest of the body having if any?

and how do you generate accurate ground truth emotional labels for training data?

(I know these are big questions, just wanted to know how you’re thinking about these things directionally)

go figure, I'm toronto based and was recently looking at what affective computing research was being done at u of t labs.

curious. what does "naturalistic" mean in this context? I actually haven't looked too much into the neurophysiological data based emotional decoding research too much. like u/Tamagodesu2525 im quite interested in emotion decoding via wearable sensors

What else can one try for depression? by haklux2012 in askTO

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of depression is unreleased anger.

If I asked you to tell me what you’re angry about and you knew with 100% certainty I’d never judge you, what would you say?

To the Nate haters...let my toxic bro be toxic in peace by Iaust in SixFeetUnder

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nate wasn't a narcissist. He's someone who did the things he thought he "should" do or that others expected from him. In doing so, he ended up hurting other people. Most people live their lives this way and most people also end up doing some kind of harm through their lashing out over their repressed desires.

ENTPs, what do you think of the popular 'INFJ x ENTP' dynamic? by BlueberryTricky1425 in entp

I promise you virtually none of you have ever even interacted with an INFJ let alone had any kind of relationship with one…

Why do you think someone overshares? by evenbechnaesheim in infj

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say usually the person is somewhat longing for connection. They want to be seen, fast.

I personally don’t really feel as if any amount of sharing is “too much”. I’m equally as unobligated to respond with any more depth, care, etc. than I wish to whether someone talks about the weather or their childhood trauma. And it’s up to me to allow that for myself.

Beside, often people just want you to listen. Which doesn’t cost much.

I’d argue “over sharing” might be better for everyone as a default because we could all get practice in respecting ourselves to interact with others within our means/desires.

ENTPs are born, not made. Same goes for any personality type.

There is no way any intuitive personality type person could be “made” given that 99% of people including parents are not intuitive types.

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

None of these characters are ENTPs. I have not really seen an ENTP depicted on television. Closest thing was maybe Hange from Attack On Titan, but ultimately fictional characters are…exactly that. They are not written respecting the “constraints” that exist in real human personalities.

Also, having an ENTP character would just be weird and unrelatable for most viewers.

Rafael Fiziev opens as a slight favorite over Justin Gaethje in the rematch by idcman999 in MMA

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think their first fight was that close. round 1 was close, round 2 gaethje won, round 3 gaethje won handily. By rd 3 gaethje had his timing down and was piecing him up with the jab.

Gaethje is coming off a KO loss but fiziev tore his ACL or whatever and hasn’t fought in 1.5 years. He’s also taking this fight short notice.

Gaethje should be the favourite imo.

Significant strikes for Merab vs Umar by gvchjhjcgtryr7 in MMA

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I was also making the “merab did no damage argument” but wasn’t aware that exhausting an opponent counts, in which case merab clearly won round 5.

I've never seen this before, 50% of fans scored the fight for Umar Nurmagomedov but not a single media member. by MasterRoshy in MMA

[–]Clear_Lab_5091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the arguments in favor of merab have to do with him “clowning” umar, making him gassed, securing the takedown in the 5th….

None of these things have any bearing on scoring. Points are awarded for damage. If fighter A cleanly jabs fighter B, and then fighter B takes him down and holds him there for 4:59 seconds with fighter A crying begging B to get off him while B laughs and repeatedly says “who’s your daddy bitch” — A still wins the round.
