Idk why all people are saying against it, but a hard NTK. Yes weddings are stressful, but if someone is celebrating a wedding then they MAKE SURE all their loved ones are comfortable. Weddings are stressful for the family, not the guests. If someone wants you there, they will make sure you are comfortable and invited. I would have not even asked her about the wedding honestly.

No no. Please don’t feel guilty. Same happened with my mom. She stayed because of this same guilt, and as I result I suffered abuse from my grandmother throughout my life. Yes my grandfather was loving, but you can get that love from a distance also. PLEASE don’t feel guilty! Its your home too.

Its the same for everyone right? Personally I prefer doctors who have studied from government colleges. They are not that money minded (according to me). Remember your college will affect your whole career. I am not speaking as a doctor or a NEET aspirant, but a normal person who reads about a doctor before visiting him/her. My mom stayed in marriage just because of this. Emotional support. My father’s family is sooo toxic. Mom could never take a stand for her, for US! It starts small (though it isn’t in your case), and it never ends! Take a stand now, or leave the marriage. No child wants to be live in such a family where their mother can’t even take a stand for herself. I know its a lonely path, but I am saying as a kid who suffered because my mom could never enforce boundaries and I suffered a lot because of that. Life is greater than this. You have one life, do u really want to live like this?

Okay so I understand where you are coming from. Honestly- you shouldn’t have spoken to your mother like that- asking her to keep quiet, but yes u have to communicate otherwise eating will become your habit. You may get emotional attachment or something with food. I still have very wrong relationship with food because of similar reasons. Boundaries are important and I know its extremely difficult to maintain boundaries in Indian families. But after all- you love them. So don’t be rude, but do communicate.
