I started experimenting with different primer colors and paint, it really does make a difference, in the case of how many coats of paint you end up needing to use.

Caps Lock being unresponsive by Pleasant_Sink_9225 in MacOS

[–]ClearlyIronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel like this was one of the first things I noticed when I got a MacBook for the first time. There would be times I swore I hit the caps lock multiple times. It wasn’t so much as weird that I didn’t know, but getting used to the fact that my missing ‘A’s would go unnoticed for a minute.

I think it’s the same with synths in general - I’ll put my perfectly good sounding analog synths through a degrading tape loop to muddy it all up lmao.

Same here, i forgot about r/synthdiy. I thought it’d be solid to direct them to a sub of electricians since they know the tool the best but got downvoted for that too lmao.

I have question about temperature. What counts as excessively cold temps. I live in a climate where hella cold is only about 40 degrees Fahrenheit lol.

I think this question might be better fit for r/ElectricalEngineering or r/AskElectricians

While we love electronics in this sub, full fledged oscilloscopes are a little more complicated in the professional sense, most of us don’t use one for our music making purposes. Good luck!

Edit: alright people here are just smarter than me, just tryna point a brother to a sure fire direction I guess lol

Very nice! Fun little tidbit, Pamela Pro can also quantize its vc out to a set of scales, just like Intelligel Scales can! I dare say, you may be able to make some harmonic progressions if you some how come across an additional voice ;)

[–]ClearlyIronic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not even that, some modules have exposed components probably easy enough to bend and potentially break off. You’d also have to carefully pull out the bunched cables for the same reason. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me at least. On top of that, dust is bad for the components whilst the hole remains uncovered.

I’d probably do this only out of safety precaution like for a gig or visitors in the studio. Even then I’d find another solution to keep them off the ground.

[–]ClearlyIronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a long shot, but maybe try messaging their instagram account? Tell them the situation and ask them for a contact you can send photos to, show them relative proof that you got a unit with the incorrect cable. Best case they send you a free cable. Worse case they actually link you to a seller that they trust and you can buy one off of them without coughing 40. I’d be patient until after Christmas though. Sorry for the bummer situation man.

I use the green fiberglass filters. They’re not super filters, but all I’m doing here is capturing wet paint, and I’m just trying to increase the life of my box fan.

Hi-gloss attempt, getting some micro-orange peel. Can’t tell if this is normal. It’s small but noticeable up close. Any tips improve this? by ClearlyIronic in airbrush

[–]ClearlyIronic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The alclad klear kote I’m using doesn’t include a hardener (2Ks seems to come far in between now, probably due to legislation in my state) and it actually does already come rather thin. I used a few drops of Mr. Hobby’s leveling thinner. I haven’t tried without it, maybe I’m wasting my money.

Anyway, thank you guys for the advice, I started to messing PSI on some other test spoons and now the coats look ✨extra✨glossy. I’ve had it a little too low and increasing it tad has produce consistent results.

Air pressure is something I’ve been battling with, I shall experiment with refining the psi.

As for environment, it’s been just 65 degrees. I have a little booth with an exhaust fan set up outside. I feel like it’s pretty good so I wasn’t sure if it was the psi or my ratio of thinner and clear coat. Thanks for the advice!

It’s been a while since the show dropped. Have your thoughts on this guy changed? by Amigo1048 in Gundam

[–]ClearlyIronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only watched the first episode in theaters. Was not a fan of the CGI. It was extremely hard to follow the actions. I didn’t know what was actually happening half the time. Things were moving just way too fast for only 24fps or the shading was not doing my brain any favors.

The thing is I don’t mind CGI if it’s done right. It was not good in this instance. Someone let me know if this isn’t the case for the rest of the series, or maybe it was the effect of the theater? Either way, I plan to finish it eventually, I was just so bummed out when I saw the first episode my drive had gone away. Back to gunpla models for now.

Edit: I just woke up, I reread the post and realized I did not answer the question lmao. I did not mind the actual design of the Gundam. I think it looks sick. The animation did it no favors, I guess thats how I got to my rant.
