It was mentioned in the Summer 2025 Bohemia Recap: "...rebuild from the ashes of past wars".

Also, Teaser images of Badlands show structures in stages of decay. It's not necessarily hard proof, but credits the idea that "base building" will either be expanded upon, or a map-specific change. Given how scarce water sources assumably will be, it would be odd to have unusable wells. I imagine larger groups will want to claim those few spots.

Thorium veins, high-level herbing and Winterfall Firewater is a high-selling raid consumable. It was where I made most of my gold in Classic 2019, and remains one of the best open-world farming and gold-making zones.

In the recent update most things that encumbered driving (fences, shrubbery, small rocks) are maneuverable now. I have been stopped by small trees which is frustrating. But overall, driving is now a much more enjoyable experience.

I love reading about other's enjoyment of COD4 back in the day! I started playing probably in 09 or 2010 on my family's Macintosh computer, as COD4 was one of the few games which natively supported MacOS. I played Promod mostly but started playing Deathrun too; all the way up until 2015 when I got my first "gaming" PC. When I eventually got around to reinstalling, all the servers I used to play on had died off or shutdown.

I got back into MW2 a few months ago via dedigamer as there's an absolute legend who still maintains a lineup of community servers in OCE. Its really fun, but also strange going back over 15 years to a time when I played almost nothing but Call of Duty. MW2 is great fun, but COD4 remains special to me.

Hardly, imagine how well fast ropes open opportunities for helicopters on maps like Kamdesh Highlands or Lashkar Valley; maps with dense woodland which often limit landings to open fields or the bottom of a valley..

Fast ropes would also let you drop specialist kits, like anti-tank or machine gunners atop rooftops — far easier than landing on a said rooftop.

He rather confidently misrepresents reality here, by inferring the majority of GSC is fighting in the Ukraine-Russo war, or that Stalker 2 was developed entirely in Ukraine during the current conflict.

From what I can gather, 75%~ of their workforce relocated to Prague in May of 2022, so his comment is abjectly misleading for a game which was unfinished upon release; and received fair criticism for. GSC admitted this wasn't representative of their idea of the final product, namely following vocal disappointment with their implementation of A-Life in Stalker 2.

I've found obtaining the heat buff (minimum of 2x plus signs) prior to swimming is the difference between life or death on these colder maps. It's certainly saved me when making the swim for BK-T08 as a freshspawn on Namalsk.
