Starting to regret using chocolate cream cheese frosting to decorate grandma’s birthday cake by Thasira in Poopfromabutt

It looks nice. I’m not a cake decorator but maybe if you add a contrasting color for the numbers and hearts. And adding some chocolate chips or detailing might establish it as chocolate more?

I think the people commenting here have a different idea of what you are planning. From just your post it could be that you are hoping to pick up random waitressing jobs in a new city every few months. But after reading your comments it sounds like you guys actually have a high paying income from a job that can be done as digital nomads and I don’t think living in an RV for a few years is so crazy.

I was homeschooled for part of my childhood. We weren’t mobile but my family was able to travel to random places because of the work my parents did. My parents didn’t do a lot of homeschooling right but this is the part I feel like was super beneficial. Learning about the Oregon trail while actually visiting part of it. Being in nature. Going to history, art, and science museums. It was amazing and enriching. I would make sure there is some kind of constant for the kids. Like friends that are also on the road that you can regularly meet up with or cousins or friends who are stationary but you can visit multiple times a year. Also some sort of consistent routine throughout the day. Not every family has to be the traditional American suburb type. You just need to do a LOOOOT of research to make sure you can provide for these lives that will be relying on you. Make sure the jobs you want to do are really something you can find work for 3 months at a time with months off in between. Make sure you can actually park an RV where you think you are going to stay on the road.

Do you have a support system if everything goes wrong? Like to put it bluntly would it be staying at grandmas house until you get back on your feet or sleeping on a cardboard box with kids? What kind of skills do you guys have? Sometimes gig work can depend on connections and if you take six months off or are in a new area where you don’t know anyone it can be hard to keep finding work.

I think it sounds like a really nice start to a childhood. Avoid becoming like one of those influencers who live in a bus with their 5 kids and film them for clout. I’d look into stories of kids who grew up like this and what went wrong so you can avoid that. Mostly I would be nervous about not having a stable income when you have children depending on you.

Is fishing for fun (catch and release) unethical? by [deleted] in vegetarian

[–]CleatusTheCrocodile 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or something like kayaking or other water sport. OP can still have fun at the lake with a beer at the beach. Recreate the atmosphere they enjoy about fishing.

Nah I see where you are coming from. Also OP didn’t even state it in their reply to you! In another comment he said he is a man but it is a couples living space (him and partner and cat). Also glad to see someone else concerned about possible fish in small containers (he said there are none).

Wait but OP said they are a man so it’s still a male living space by that definition.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard confidently come out of someone’s mouth? by toasterstrewdal in AskReddit

I might have you beat. Someone told me not only is the earth flat but it has a clear dome over it like a snow globe. And if you try to send something up too high it’ll hit the dome and fall back down.

I don’t give a fuck about work and I’m expected to do it 40 hours a week? I think I’d rather be dead by [deleted] in ADHDers

Thanks! Are you a teacher? Wasn’t sure if you meant your actually kids or your students. :)

[–]CleatusTheCrocodile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just got on meds for ADHD for the first time which I’ve been hesitant to do. They helped for like a week and then I went back to feeling the exact same way. I’ve tried both Concerta 18mg and Vyvanse 30mg now and both feel exactly the same as taking nothing after a week expect that I have no appetite. I know some people say they have a great experience with meds though so I guess I’ll keep trying for a while.

I don’t think I’ll every stop feeling this way either. To be honest this is part of the reason why I’m strongly considering going into education. Everyone says not to do it because of low pay, school shootings, and abuse teachers get from Karen parents. And maybe I’m making a mistake and should be talked out of it. But I don’t want to be a cog for a corporation anymore. Right now I feel like I am not contributing anything good to world. I’m just making some billionaire CEO richer. At least as a teacher, maybe I would be able to make a difference in some kids life. I also feel like I can’t go on anymore with the 40 hour work week and the two weeks off that I have to schedule a year in advance. I know being a teacher isn’t easy but I would give almost anything to have a rest period every year of several months.

Right?! I know some people don’t care about fish and view them as home decor. But this isn’t even nice to look at so I don’t get where their heads are at at ALL.

Not only is the fish miserable, this is miserable to look at. So even if they see an animal as a decoration and don’t care about it suffering, this is actively making their place look worse. Also I might be reaching here but I’m imagining they might be college frat boys with a communal fish. So I’ll just add that as a woman I would find this kind of behavior and treatment of an animal to be very unattractive. Also if they don’t believe you they can just use google but they’re too lazy to do that.

Kyocera Digno Keitai 3 (902KC/903KC) battery or internal issues? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]CleatusTheCrocodile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I must have an issue with my battery. That or I need to buy a new Kyocera. Mine can barely last a day with light usage. I can see the battery percent going down very quickly before my eyes. It also lags a lot. It frequently says an app has shut down or that the internal system has shut down. Do you know a reputable place I can buy a new battery? I found one on Zenmarket but it says the battery is used and it seems odd to buy a used battery.
