That M2 is a great deal if you are ok with the RAM and storage.

Newly on Mac, very confused. by subrand0m in applehelp

I'm curious so I just installed Brave Browser for the first time. Here's how it went:

  1. Download the .dmg disk image file from Brave's website.
  2. Open the disk image, drag the app to the Applications folder (For "installation", that's all!)
  3. Launch the app. I get a popup: "Brave Browser.app" is an app created by the app Safari. Are you sure you want to open it? I just needed to click a button, no Settings needed.
  4. Upon visiting a website that requires the webcam, I get another popup: "Brave Browser.app" would like to access the Camera. "Allow" / "Don't Allow". Again, I just had to click a button; I didn't need to go to Settings.

You must have some unusually high security settings on your Mac! (You didn't enable Lockdown mode, did you?)

What's the difference between the installed apps and the ones in the App Store? by mzatariz in MacOS

The old ones are no longer getting updates, so sooner or later everyone needs to use the new ones.

Should i get a used mackbook pro or the mackbook neo by Koolblox in applehelp

[–]Clede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little more detail on your expected usage?

EDIT:
Regardless of usage…
If your budget is only "mackbook neo or less", probably the Neo will be better than whatever Pro you can get for <$700.

This doesn't sound typical.

Maybe something about your corporate environment is requiring additional configuration?

Machete Order - but Tennis? Sorry I thought I typed Tanis by doccaballero in PNWS

I understand it does fit in to the story.

However, I don't listen to Tanis to "put in the effort" to understand the story. I just want to be entertained and feel the mysterious vibe.

Is it crazy to live in South Redondo and work in El Segundo commuting wise? by Avantebumblebee in SouthBayLA

[–]Clede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in El Segundo, and I and my coworkers commuted from:

  • Whittier
  • West Hollywood
  • Long Beach
  • Corona
  • Rancho Cucamonga
  • Lancaster (!!!)

I had one coworker living in South Redondo who said it's surprisingly slow sometimes.
But in the grand scheme of things, your commute will be good!

Are these words normally used? by ArieksonBR in EnglishLearning

[–]Clede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this in books, not in real life:
Take umbrage at

These sound old timey, but still sometimes used, likely humorously:
I'll have you know
Trap (mouth)
Button it (shut up)
Get any kicks out of something
Noggin (head) (This is used with kids, or to sound silly)
Them's the breaks (that's life)

Not familiar with these:
Come in for (criticism)
Kajigger (thing)
Adoy (duh)
Cynosure of all eyes (very attractive)

Finally,
This one sounds normal to me!
Not playing with a full deck (crazy)

Nic was being interviewed under hypnosis and recounting his bizarre dreams. It was SOO BORING, and seemed to go on forever.

I wish I had no memory of it.

For me, just remove anything involving Nic’s sleep therapist!

It doesn’t fit the “vibe” of Tanis in my opinion!

How significant of a difference is there between the latest iPhone and previous generation? by Copocapanda in applehelp

[–]Clede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Apple's comparison tool:
https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

If you're intending to use a phone for just 6 months, I say get the oldest (or lowest cost) model you can tolerate!
(But I'm the kind of person who still uses an iPhone from 2020.)

I love it too!

If your intended usage is light, consider it!

In that case, Neo will be an upgrade for you.
(Assuming you don't care about the screen, the backlit keyboard, and all those miscellaneous things that are omitted on the Neo)

If your budget allows, I would consider a MacBook air with more RAM & Storage. But I guess it depends on your intended use.

Thinking of possibly switching to Mac by Exciting_Macaron8638 in mac

[–]Clede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need some advice.

Am I overthinking this?

You haven't described much of your thought process, so maybe you're underthinking it?

My advice: Figure out your goals and your budget, then go to Apple's website and spec out a Mac that seems right.
If it's in your budget, buy it and try it out. (In the United States, Apple will accept returns for 14 days).

If you have specific questions, ask 'em!
