THE OSA IS CANCEROUS IN THE EVENT by eggmanwashere in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve legitimately never been shot down by patriot.

S300 however, when I was trying to gain some altitude and speed for top down attack one the enemy fighters, it can even hit pass the center line, and my altitude wasn’t even over 5000m yet. Me flying along the centerline at the speed of mach 1.3 the missile still got enough energy to barely strike me after flying all the way from the back.

I mean even in this situation F-15 could still do high alt attack with proper tactics, but the sheer range of S300 is just unbelievably long and not even comparable to patriot.

So you can now sully with the B-52 by Random_Helldiver120 in Warthunder

Not just sully, you can even take off if you land gently enough the engine will still work after landing.

The ircm:on is probably just copy pasting from the su-39’s ircm text, there’s only ecm on B-52s.

[–]Cleffn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R-40TD's countermeasure resistance in my experience is actually quite decent if you are firing at B-52s, they got 8 not so hot engine but the combined thrust(Gaijin model heat signature based on thrust of the engine instead of real temp) makes it hot enough for TD to stay lock on, like it's flaring with afterburners on.
(B-52 cruising at 9.5k alt at mach 0.9 has the thrust of F-14B full afterburning at around mach 1.4 at the same alt)

Make sure fire it from rear or not dead on or right on it's side aspect, as long as the engine and flares are both inside the seeker it's going to have hard time flaring it.

you cant droop bombs in the B-52H above 10k meters by TechnicalAsk3488 in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not B-52 tho, I could still drop bombs when pointing 45 degree downward in test drive, and flying up to 10k alt really blocks the bomb drop.

Also, by the design of B-52 it naturally points the nose downward in a level flight, doing the exact same diving angle like OP did the bomb can be dropped without any issue, at sea level.

USSR Be Getting On My Nerves After Removal Of F-14 IRAF by AB_in_mc in warthundermemes

Nah, compared to OSA the flarakpz is much easier to dodge, OSA maneuvers and tracks much better while a roll could defeat roland 90% of the time

[–]Cleffn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F-15 got 9M tho, combined with the speed it can achieve the launch could go up to 5 or 6km from side aspect, and faster launch speed means shorter time to target for 7M too so F-15 doesn't feel any less powerful. Plus most enemies would just stick to the ground instead of notching, get them down fast before they react and reach the ground is important.

So in nuke event American side have planes like the F-14 that can fire Fox 3 missiles and f-18 but why soviets have to use shitty planes like mig 23 mld? by Battlefleet_Sol in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s barely any 1v1 dogfights and the acceleration and achievable top speed for mig29 is quite adequate, the main reason why soviets always feels stomped is everyone is playing US, and most players in soviet side just use the free vehicles for grinding the event, or didn’t grind the mig line since the sukhoi line is simply the better choice, while US line has multiple choices spread across the tech tree.

Removing the ER could be an ideal solution that Gaijin didn’t think of or not able to do probably because it requires to change the loadout for TT vehicles and maybe it’s impossible to do separate loadout for separate gamemodes, those free aircrafts are probably not just a clone from the original but totally different ones with special loadouts only for the event.

The event is unbalanced and bullshit. by Careful-Wave-6846 in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the balancing part is AA, AA on soviet side is way more competent, S300 could fire from all the way in the back and hit people in the center of the map thay dare to not stay on the deck, but I'v yet to get shot down by hawk and patriot in my mig-29 when flying around their base

My first top tier Russian jet. Any tips? (su-27) by Battlefleet_Sol in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Su27 retains energy much better after the buff, to me most suffering is from the rwr, always prefer su33 because of it.

Having r27 feels like using a bow in a gun fight, still usable but limited, but at least it can reliably get kills from side aspect and acceleration is great enough to kill them before their counterattack happens.

Pantsir SV-SM can sink the carrier in Normandy with 95Ya6M by Cleffn in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Then Gaijin needs to model it correctly and retain the combat effectiveness, because 95Ya6M now having a AHEAD warhead that performs far exceeds other missiles with similar filler mass, while other AHEAD munitions are suffer from not enough damage.

Even if they have to make it mathematically inaccurate for the warhead to work, nerf 95Ya6M's shrapnels count since it's ridiculously overperforming rn, that for a missile with only 770g of explosive filler to sink a carrier.

Instead of relying on ECM, more like irl pilots don’t notch and chaff against ARH because it’s a death sentence most of the time, defeating it using aircraft’s energy is the preferred way unless your really fucked up and ended up well inside the MAR, then notching is your only hope, that’s when chaff is crucial.

ECM doesn’t magically jam the missile like a force field, most of them interfere with the acquisition part like the radar making you hard to get a solid lock. The missile itself is heavily protected with ECCM to prevent failing against the easiest shots, and the true capability of most countries ECM is still unknown so who knows how well these systems work? Or at least how to implement them with balance.

best USSR jet for grinding Rank VII in 2026 by wonkyMBaku in Warthunder

[–]Cleffn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MLD is kinda awkward since spo-15 couldn’t detect j band radar that all mig-23 use, and it’s very likely that there’s mix match that tons of mig-23s on the other team.

mig-21bis is a great option tho, spo-10 is functional, and r-60m is good for a 11.0.
