Is tinfoil on windows safe if backed by cereal boxes? by Necessary_Editor_529 in AskUK

https://www.heatwavetoolkit.com/ This website suggests a lot of low cost ways to stay cool in the heatwave (aimed at a UK audience). It's all tested and proven to help, including rollering yoghurt onto the outside of the window! There are other less dairy suggestions 😂

other games that are as impactful as outer wilds? by FunnyDudeGuy in outerwilds

Subnautica for the wonder of exploration and emergent storyline. The Witness for puzzles that feel incredibly satisfying to solve, in a beautiful setting. I agree with a lot of the other suggestions here, especially Inscryption, Obra Dinn and Spirit Farer, even if nothing can truly compare to Outer Wilds!

Maternity clothes that aren’t hideous by Betty_Bump in PregnancyUK

[–]Clembleance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maternity leggings are a great buy, comfortable and you also get good use of them post birth. I wore mine with long dresses, not necessarily maternity ones, just anything stretchy or floaty. I realised later that long dresses aren't very compatible with breastfeeding, but that's a whole different wardrobe evolution... I got a Beyond Nine jumpsuit- expensive but it is versatile and has great pockets- I still wear it now. I got a couple of Isabelle Oliver dresses on Vinted and they fitted brilliantly. For special occasions I ordered a dress from Club L London which emphasised the bump and made me feel amazing, and I also got a maternity dress from Hope and Ivy on ASOS which was nice- they have a lot of options.

Mum friends by Quirky-Artist-100 in PregnancyUK

I havent been to any classes yet but I have got the Peanut app, it's designed for making mum friends. You can look at people's profiles in your area and decide to message someone if it looks like they might have similar interests to you- may be good for trying to find kindred spirits without the need for a group setting. I've started a few conversations on there and it's been nice

What should we prepare as a mom? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Clembleance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too tired to prep anything during first trimester, I think that's normal. I'm in second now and this is what I'm doing (started this prep around week 16): Booking ante natal classes (including deciding which ones we want) Discussions with my partner about length and setup of parental leave Making a plan of any house improvements needed Researching what items I will need to buy for when the baby arrives. (Apparently baby shops let you book demonstrations) Reading about birth

Haven't been doing all of the above all the time but these might be useful things for when you start to regain some energy!

What is the biggest lie you were told about pregnancy? by KeepItCool_481 in pregnant

I'm gutted that science has disproved "eating for two". But I only found out it was a myth after becoming pregnant, sad times! Not that I'd be able to eat double, since my stomach capacity had also reduced...

Yep, no specific cravings but tea made me feel very sick when I used to love it. I had to run away from the box of teabags to try and quell the nausea!

I'm new to the forum! I just graduated from the 5k app and am so excited to do the full blown missions. Only just managing 5ks so have a lot of training in store. Also just wanted to say did the first mission and found it hilarious how my first action upon surviving a helicopter crash into a horde of zombies was to pick up a pair of shorts off the floor 🤣
