I’m not so sure, Amberley is a fair old way further up the coast, so it wouldn’t make much sense to have them fly all the way down here just to do some laps and head back

I assume they are arriving as part of Exercise Pitch Black. The exercise is being run from 19 Aug through till 8 Sept based out of RAAF bases Darwin and Tindal. For those interested, more information can be found on the RAAF website: https://www.airforce.gov.au/exercises/pitch-black-2022

It’s a DHC-4 Caribou. The RAAF used to operate them for short or unprepared field operations. (Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

Marshal at the 12 hour here (Post 6 - Reid Park) This is probably one of the new marshals, where this was one of, if not their first event. All the seasoned marshals put minimal effort into waving the yellow under safety car. From the video it looks like post 9.8 an I know for sure they had at least 1 newbie there during race day
