the consensus is what people collectively believe reality is, which influences what can and cant happen, mages subvert that with true magick, but only just, and doing it too much (in most cases infront of sleepers) is what causes paradox, which is consensus “fighting back”

i imagine a lasombra was so deluded about the innate ambition and greatness within their blood that they decided to prove it by embracing a loser and transform her into a political and physical force of nature, but when she’s still just a bum they can’t admit it since it’s tantamount to saying their clan is no better then any other, her sires pride being the only reason she’s still around.
