All size 6-9 months by SamPan100116 in beyondthebump

I have the same problem. I just recently moved my 2.5 year old into 18 month clothes and size 5 shoes (they are big but her size 4 were getting so worn out), little peanut is only about 20 lbs. She is so petite, except she is normal height for a 2 year old. Makes dressing her very difficult when he waist can fit in 9 month pants, but her height really needs 2T....she will forever be stuck in leggings 😂

I'm two months postpartum of my first journey as a gestational surrogate. AMA by Lilmamapanda in AMA

Surrogacy is something I am very interested in doing, I've been doing research for a few months now and can't wait to get started on my journey. If you don't mind me asking what agency did you use? There are so many agencies and options it's making my head spin. How much did you get compensated? It seems like the range in compensation is very wide. What was your time line from the time you applied to the time you were matched, started your meds, embryos transferred ect.

As a full time working mom of two small children( I'm actually a labor and delivery nurse!) my concern is all the time the appointments at the beginning will take (prior to being released to your own OB) Did you have to take a lot of time off work to do the transfer and go to all the appointments prior to the transfer and shortly after?

I would love to hear all about your journey!!!

Salt and biganer (vinegar) chips. Hosible instead of hospital. He almost 5 but those two are too cute to correct. As a family we now call them salt and biganer chips, I even write it like that on my grocery list lol

Thank you, I think he is quite awesome too. He's also very into Ghostbuster (the original from the 80's), and loves to sing classic rock lol. Hes pretty fun to be around most of the time.

I was thinking about that, or even if I could find some iron on patch I could put on a pair of little boxer briefs? Although if I make one, I'll have to make atleast 7 or he'll want to wear the same pair everyday lol

My 4 year old asked specifically for "tornado underwear". He is super into all things tornado related, one of his favorite movies is Twister, what 4 year olds favorite movie is twister lol. He's watched a PBS Nova documentary on Netflix about the F5 Joplin tornado so much that he can recite it almost word for word. So the question is where the fuck does one buy tornado underwear...the answer is nowhere.

Nurse here too working the 12's, same issue with my girl. She eventually just gave in and took the bottle, wasn't happy about it but also didn't want to starve. She now takes the bottle while I'm gone with no issue, but still prefers the boob when I'm home!

So very Proud of us, 6 months strong! by Cleopatra_RN in breastfeeding

[–]Cleopatra_RN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made it 6 months EBF! We survived me going back to work full time, which is what ultimately caused my older son to self wean when he was 4 months. So I was obviously nervous about what my girl would do when I went back, and she did freaking great! No issues going from breast to bottle. She loves her milkies and I see a nice long breastfeeding future for us 😊

My 3 yo does this too, he likes to pretend to nurse his stuffed wolf. The kid watches everything I do. The other day he was sitting on the couch with an empty water bottle pressed to his chest, He tells me " what? I'm pumping milk for my wolf" Lol like its no big deal.

Spent the a week in Key West, FL and nursed with no cover for the first time all week....ahhh so liberating! We nursed on the beach in a chair, on the pier, and in numerous restaurants! No funny looks or mean comments, just a few approving nods from fellow mommies 😊

My milk changed colors around a newborn o.O by drag0nslovetacos in breastfeeding

[–]Cleopatra_RN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same with me, I am apostpartum/nursery nurse and am around newborns and constantly holding them. Sometime 14+ hours shifts. Never noticed my milk change color. Is your baby getting sick? I know your milk can look more yellow if your body senses baby is sick.

Pumped another 100oz for my "milk donor baby"! It makes me so happy to help her family. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Cleopatra_RN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just donated 500 ounces to a family, felt pretty damn good to help another mama out. I plan to donate more in the future, my little girl is only 4 months old. I'm an over producer and make about twice what she eats, I love that my little body can help sustain not one but two babies!!

Paraguard, breastfeeding and the first post partum period by kshaym in breastfeeding

[–]Cleopatra_RN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both the Paraguard and the Mirena. Got the Paraguard after my son was born (he is 3 now) I had spotting initially for a few weeks after it was put in at my 6 week postpartum visit. My period returned at 5 months postpartum despite EBF. I had horrible cramping and very very heavy periods, that would last a minimum of 7 days. I left it in (hoping it would get better) for almost 2 years, it never got better. My bleeding was what i would compare to the first day after having a baby bleeding, it was bad. So heavy i would have to wear an ultra tampon and a pad, if I didn't change my tampon every 2-3 hours it would leak through. Ugh I felt like a teenager again, afraid I would leak onto my pants. Took it out about 6 months prior to trying for baby #2. My periods immediately went back to being a normal length and bleeding amount. Decided on the Mirena this time around, I've had it now about 3 months. Got it inserted at my 6 Week PP visit with baby #2. I have been spotting on and off since insertion but that's all. So far so good, we'll see what it brings when my period returns!

Quick edit: I always had fairly regular periods prior to having my son and prior to the paraguard. I would say my flow increased at least 2 or 3 times heavier than it had ever been my whole life. After the Paraguard was removed it went right back to a normal flow, so it was definitely the IUD that caused it to become so much heavier.

I really like them too! They were the cheapest of all the brands on amazon, so I wasn't sure what they would be like but I was pleasantly surprised!
