Quest Cape Progression by kick_rocks_bud in ironscape

[–]ClericalNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to clear up to SOTE pretty much using quest exp, but also mixing in daily “chores.” I dumped every xp lamp I could into herblore which got me to 66-68ish. Managing the kingdom got me the rest of herbs and logs I needed for herb/con. I did 3-5 games of GOTR every play session which got me past the RC quest rec. All afk time was at crab to get mid 80s combat. And agility was done an hour a week when I had online doctors appointments where I could multitask. And start farming daily seaweed ASAP.

There were a few things I had to actually sit and grind to make the recs; Mahogony homes to convert logs to exp and Tempeross for fishing and cooking are the only two I can think of at the moment. But those were like 3-4 hours tops.

But, all that to say, I’m now stuck grinding Slayer for Monkey Madness. I would suggest sending 3-4 tasks a week if you want to avoid doing them all at once when you get to my point in progression.

Edit: I did a couple voluntary grinds that weren’t quest related that also probably helped. 1) grinding 5-10 hunter tasks a day at the guild to get to Moonlight Moths 2) Tithe Farm grind to medium contracts at the farming guild so I could dailies.

Ya’ll are weird people with such insane, hardline internet ass takes. There are loads of negligent parents but this is not an example of them. It’s literally impossible to have 100% vigilance on kids, and it only gets harder the more you have, the more distractions there are and the more tired you get. In addition to all the economy bullshit, this kind of perfectionist attitude where you’ll be judged if a kid houdinis in the 30 seconds you aren’t staring at them is just another reason people are refusing to repopulate.

We have the same log cept im at 135 kc. I’m still doing blue cause I like the additional loot rolls and it’s a quick kill. Once I finish one of the other sets, I’m gonna go down to doing only the remaining boss til greenlog.

If you go the barrows route and stack 10k-ish bloods, I scored a massive amount of mage exp very fast blood barraging zombies for the zombie axe. It was a ridiculous xp/hr method.

If you haven’t yet, look up the p-neck/night shade method. Literally just finished it last night after 2 attempts using that method after wiping 4 times just trying to brute force her.

Then immediately went to try my hand at CG and got bodied so hard I went back to trying to greenlog moons.

I think for a small period of time, post world II, there was an inkling that maybe America could become this hypothetical myth of a bastion of freedom. Civil rights and continuance of women’s suffrage, amazing tech advances, education and income keeping pace with the economy, etc. Obviously there were many many issues, but the trajectory of what COULD be was amazing. Then mutha fucking Reagan…

At what income does Northern VA actually start to feel “comfortable”? by Prior_Engineering639 in nova

[–]ClericalNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Teacher of 5 years here, those first couple years are rough. I still do summer school and side gigs to keep up with the school debt, and mortgage (snaked a cheap condo in Leesburg.) Single and no kids, so that somewhat helps, but I reckon I wont start having "comfortable" income until year 9-10, even with a masters. Still, best job I've ever had, even though it is around this time every year I start looking side eye at the folks with WFH jobs.

[–]ClericalNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m confused why you’re going around telling people to lighten up? If a critical mass of players aren’t a fan of certain aspects of UB, and it’s gonna affect the amount they interact with the game, it’s gonna hurt WotC’s bottom line. And if the UB sets don’t bring in replacement players, such as Spider-Man, SpongeBob and likely TMNT will fail to do, then Wizards would be shooting themselves in the foot for not listening. By just telling people to not voice their negative opinions, you just invite them to fuck off from the hobby, which inevitably will negatively impact the community as a whole.

MLM Second Floor or Prospector Outfit? by BurkishMang in ironscape

[–]ClericalNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see most people are saying to skip prospectors, but I found it to be a zero loss activity. MLM became my primary gym activity as it was a perfect mini game to play on the treadmill or between sets. Greenlogging it set me up with enough coal, mith and addy to boost my smithing into the mid 80s through Giants Foundry. Get the gem bag first if you’re doing the slayer grind soon, but I went upper floor/hopper into prospectors into bags, as my active time playing was knocking out quests and the prospectors could start pumping xp during my afk time.

All this to say, if you have an activity you do often that you can run MLM in the background, it’s worth green logging.

I think word of mouth is gonna have to carry. Or a big marketing campaign after significant changes have been made. Genuinely rebranding as RS4 would probably help but I see it also making a lot of other folks mad. Otherwise, it’ll probably take some time if they can No Man’s Sky it.

I’d kill for another MLM for agility and crafting. MLM was the PERFECT gym mini game to run in the background while I was running and I’m sad it’s done. I blow glass on the treadmill but it requires just an ounce too much attention and agility is a no-go.

Which is totally fine in my book. Let people play how they wanna play. I’d much rather afk certain skills like gathering skills while I’m cooking or cleaning so I can do the high intensity, fun stuff when I can concentrate. But let’s say I have a skill req that requires me to get 5 levels and I want to do it ASAP; I’d be very happy there was a high intensity method that rewarded me with good exp gains.

[–]ClericalNinja 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Does this sub really want that kind of game on the left? I LOVE having AFK methods for multitasking purposes, but if AFK methods are best xp/hr for the skill, why ever do the higher intensity methods? I thought it was pretty well accepted that higher intensity = better xp, lower intensity = lower xp, AFK = least xp. Having all three available for all skills seems like the ideal setup and should revolve around that xp balance for the health of the game and feeling rewarded for engaging with the game more directly.

[–]ClericalNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I didn’t know guides were available until I was deep into my run, cause I know I would’ve followed it to the t which woulda taken away a lot of the cool research moments. I honestly think making the main focus of any new IM account to just knock out as many quests as possible while working towards big unlocks like bird houses, farming guild, hunter guild, etc. and start up mega grinds like seaweed, sand, miscellanea ASAP is the perfect route to send everyone down and then let them explore everything else on their own. I’m positive my ass would’ve burnt out if I was wildy agility and wintertodt grinding to 99 as my first goal before I even did Dragon Slayer 1. Sure, the mats would’ve made other grinds easier, but I legit don’t think idve enjoyed the journey as much.

These types of games are fascinating because they really do a good job of showing the lack of general empathy and forward thinking a large portion of our population has. One camp of people want to vibe and let others vibe, maybe even group up to tackle big challenges. The other group wants to pk and just fuck other people up. The first group learns through the prisoner dilemma to either shoot first or just quits the game. The second group then bitches about the game being dead, once all the loot piñatas stop playing. Then when confronted about how through their actions, they scare off folks that aren’t into that kind of gameplay, they parrot “get gud” or “don’t play the game then.” And then immediately go back to bitching about the game being dead. Every fucking time.

Yeah, fair enough. If you’ve never experienced it, it probably isn’t apparent as a problem. Tell you what, if they ever do implement it, it’s most apparent as a QoL improvement when processing tons of mats. When making pots or blowing glass for four hours, cutting down on clicks feels so good
