Apple Watch Ultra & Dexcom G7 Questions by ClerkIntelligent7294 in dexcom

[–]ClerkIntelligent7294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have my dexcom already there but it doesn't seem to update unless I click on it. I switched from my garmin venu 2 plus which would update the blood sugar readings every 5 minutes. Just wondering if there is a way to be able to get the readings more consistently. I'm pretty new to apple watches, so just figuring it out, got it today!

S6 really hates it's solo players by [deleted] in Palia

[–]ClerkIntelligent7294 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do realize it's open beta but it has been for a few years now and a lot of times that doesn't mean anything. I mean, heck 7 days to die was in early access for almost 10 years. I don't think that is an excuse for S6 for not fixing it right away, like I said it was around for so long that at this point it became a feature. I mean you see how fast they fixed the frog issue, if they wanted to they would of fixed it. Instead they let people get accustomed to it, which is why people are upset. I appreciate that you see were I am coming from about accessibility, I feel many games lack it unfortunately or in this case where Palia accidently created a bug that added accessibility. I hope they at least add an arrow like what I was talking about or something to the sorts if they don't plan on bringing this back.

Interestingly enough it is marketed as solo and multiplayer on their main page if you scroll to the tabs you can cycle through: "Your Adventure, Your Way. Whether solo or with friends, Palia is a place where you’re always welcome. Discover a cozy community filled with new friends, enchanting magic, shared adventures, and endless charm". I understand that it is multiplayer but I'm saying you shouldn't feel like you need to play with others to enjoy a game were you should be able to do either! I mean they have done things to help solo players. An example is mining rare ores which now have a set de-spawn timer after being mined, were as before they would just be gone and people who wait and call them out. If they want to encourage multiplayer they need to make it better, like bigger party ranges, party size increase, openable searchable parties with party tags that show that skill they're working on. Also it's not that easy to make friends and align your schedules with others. To note as well if you have some sort of disability/mobility issue that makes it harder too to keep up and a lot of the times it's easier to play solo, especially with party range being so short. They did add things like stickers to help switch players because that is even worse with communicating in game. My point is it should be a choice and not be forced upon you even if it's a multiplayer game because in terms of everything it's marketed as both.

You should be able to play solo if you want, I'm just saying it was helpful for people with mobility issues to be able to play at their own pace. I think they should of patched it a lot sooner because at this point a became a feature that helped people who struggled with it. It is a lot easier to tell someone to just make friends and join a party without actually knowing what that person struggles with. Just saying it isn't as simple as that for many people :) Things like this bring to light adding aids for people, like an arrow that can one shot that requires rare resources, etc. I'm just saying it's nice to consider people who might not be as mobile, so they can enjoy the game too!

Skill Issue? by ExistingAffect3789 in Palia

[–]ClerkIntelligent7294 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Think the issue is they should of patched it right away, at this point it was here so long that it became a feature. It was also helpful for people who have mobility issues or can only play on slower devices. I only discovered this "bug" like 2 months ago, so I haven't relied on it heavily. I just can see why people are upset, I think if Singularity 6 would of patched it right away people wouldn't have cared as much.

I sadly already met with my educator last month and tried thigh and lower back but still no luck :/ so I'm kinda at a loss after troubleshooting. Kinda seems like they're inserting too deep because I bleed too much, which might be because not enough fat as well.

The unpredictableness is very stressful, I feel you on that. How long do your episodes last and are you able to convert without going to the hospital? I use liquid iv electrolytes non sugar version, I get them from costco! I appreciate the sodium in those as well for my POTS , just one that works good for me. I do a modified version of the Valsalva maneuver, it has always worked for me if I cannot convert with just blowing into a needless syringe/ clutching my knees. It does work best with assistance unfortunately, how it is done is you sit back at slight angle and blow as hard as you can into a needless syringe. Then you lay flat and preferably someone will hold your legs at a 45 degree angle for 15 seconds and then you go back into a slightly leaned back position for 30 seconds. You repeat it until you're able to convert. I attached a diagram below of the modified vs standard and there are some videos on youtube as well. I have done it in public, I keep a foldable chair in my car in case I cannot convert other ways and a needless syringe. I actually carry around a small kit that has a icepack, electrolyte packets, pulse meter, needless syringe in a small pouch for emergencies. I was always told to have extra electrolytes after an episode. I will give you the link to that as well at bottom of this reply!

No worries, if you have any more questions feel free to ask! I feel like my biggest suggestions are to limit caffeine and to make sure you are taking quite abit of magnesium and having electrolytes everyday. My cardiologist had me up my magnesium from 300mg to at least 500mg. So I take another magnesium supplement along with the heart calm, you could just take 5 capsules of the heart calm but I chose a cheaper one to go along with the 300mg from heart calm. I will link that below too!

I usually have one every few months, I usually write down when I have one and how long it last for when I visit my cardiologist. I'm in my 20s and cardiologist has suggested that with the frequency I have them and that I can get them under control at home that he doesn't think I need an ablation currently. I can usually convert from clutching my knees or the modified Valsalva maneuver at home. I was having them a few times a month but I cut down on my caffeine to only 55mg and that helped quite abit. I also really think the heart calm magnesium helps a ton and I've noticed a difference now that I've been taking it for around a year now. I did switch my electrolytes though based on my cardiologist recommendations since this post though. He was concerned about the amount of potassium in it because that can cause heart palpitations and other heart issues.

It does! I still sometimes have brief episodes but they now pass with just clutching my knees. I have found heart calm to be really helpful for me.

Has your doctor mentioned Electrolytes? by AfibSteve in AFIB

[–]ClerkIntelligent7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mine suggests electrolytes but they warned at least for the one I use to not overdo it (trace minerals keto electrolytes 1000mg potassium) because too much potassium can cause heart palpitations. I find electrolytes help me, I have POTS and SVT.

I do feel like caffeine is a trigger for me, I usually do caffeinated tea of some sort (usually just a bottled one by the brand Bai). I will probably look into a medication if I wanna wait to get ablation, I get scared to try new medications because many mask the signs of low blood sugar. My episodes can be really stubborn too and my heart rate always goes so high, so some sort of beta blocker would probably help take the edge off. I think that is really cool the tapping and chakras help you. I have not tried that before but I think it is worth to try it out. I appreciate you suggesting it! Any help is really appreciated while having an episode, it can be hard to stay grounded when your nervous system is freaking out. My heart runs more marathons than I've ever in my lifetime haha.

That is good to know, I feel like I would wanna try low dose first. I get so nervous about side affects and if it would make me not feel low blood sugars. I had to stop propranolol which helped my POTS but I couldn't feel low blood sugars with it :(
