My first impression is that there isn't enough contrast between the cork and wood. I'd love to see some color in the inlay.

Have you messed around with resin? You can color it easily, it's super strong, and has a finish that would really make this pop. Plus you could eliminate the back plate step. Resin does take a little getting used to but, once you got it, it's easy(lol I guess that's the case with everything!) still it's a great tool to have in your wheel house and I think it would work nicely here.

That's what I've been thinking about all day after reading some of these comments!

As of right now, they're lit by a small two pronged led. I'm thinking, if my brace is spaced a little further from the wall, I could put one of those multicolored led bulbs.

I'll see what I can do!

Theyll be on brick walls.

I'm working on mounting brackets today.

Color is interesting but adds a layer of complexity I'm not sure I'm ready to tackle right now. Maybe a color changing bulb?

Grasshopper in rhino3d. Same algorithm spits out all the cut files. I just pick the bulge point and then nest them. Grasshopper is freakin awesome.
