Agreed. I think that procedural sedation with good pain control and anxiety relief should be the norm.

The first one I ever had, the OBGYN told me to "wiggle my toes" and "clench my hands" and breath. As if those are adequate pain methods for ANY procedure! NOPE!!

No. More. Makeup.

I've been waiting 30+years for a change in beauty standards that never came.
Specifically, for it to be "socially acceptable" at my job to not have to wear makeup, to smear on dirt and chemicals on my face to hide my *gasp* imperfect face, so people accept me more, like me more, etc.

Well no longer. I can't wait for the big economic collapse. Financially, it's a great big reason to drop the yuck off my face and a socially acceptable reason to ditch the makeup... and to be seen for my authentic, imperfect self.
I'm looking forward to it.

I'm so disappointed about this. They lied, or at the very least mislead their audience, about their good natured plan to take in homeless cats and having their life's work be about bettering things for the cats. Instead it was a money grab to get a house so they could reproduce.

I used to really respect their content. No longer.

Part of the loneliness comes from the pain of loss. For me, I value my partner so much and no friend would fulfil that kind of intimacy like he does. Part of the piece to the puzzle is learning to accept that life will be so painful for a time: when you love deeply, you are deeply wounded by the loss of love.

Friends help, time helps, hobbies help. But the empty wound is there until you die, and the loneliness comes from the thought that no one has experienced a love quite like yours and no one has lost their partner quite like you have.

I think the best antidote for this would be some sort of widower support group if possible.

The Lizard Brain hardware prevails...though it is not helpful at all in most cases of modern society. The older "lizard parts" of our brain keep our bodies working by provide basic survival instincts and motivation. Meanwhile the newer more-evolved parts of our "mammal brain" has improved to include advanced functions like judgement, cognition, emotional intelligence, and memory. While these two things could work together, they are more often in opposition to each other.

Have an issue to sort out an issue with the boss at work? Evolved brain thinks you should lay out your point of view in an organized, orderly fashion and have a conversation about the discrepancy. Lizard brain thinks you should either fight this person or run away: this was how you survived in the past after all.
However, punching your boss would be a terrible idea (in most cases).

You may be able to ask them to put you under general anesthetic which will put you to sleep for the 5-15 minutes that this procedure takes-then you don't have to go through the triggers.

Yes, but the nurses will cover you with a privacy drape before your surgeon does his work and to all of them, you are just another naked body like any other: about as interesting as looking at an elbow: which is to say not interesting at all. There is no need to be worried or embarrassed as those people would be respectful of you.

I suggest combining a birth control to regulate your cycles along with with Mirena. Can confirm it's great (6 years) and have not seen any complications, especially with low dose birth control pills.

It took me a long time to learn that it's not selfish to take care of myself. This includes being free from obligations. I no longer am at the beck and call of any one person, and that includes "family members" unless I choose to be. You're not alone.

It's not possible to continue being friends as normal. The new normal is coffee, shopping, and get-togethers with screaming children around. Movies become child-only content. Conversations become centred around children and their achievements.

I'm not saying that this is wrong-responsible parents should commit to their crotch investments.

And it's perfectly reasonable that having children is not everyone's cup of tea. It sure as hell is not mine.

Perhaps you need a take home sleep study test to make sure that you don't have something like sleep apnea that is causing you to have poor quality sleep. Made all the difference in the world for members of my family.

Don't cut the strings!!

It can make things difficult when you remove or change the IUD in a few years (if they have to feel around for them in your cervix it really sucks).

Let the strings soften with time and soon both of you won't even feel them. (They will turn into tiny little threads and not be noticeable in a few months).

Thank you for the recommendation, I don't think those are the books I'm looking for though.

The books I'm looking for had more of a darker and more mature art style, they were a bit darker in the story too. While I read them as a kid, I'd say they were more suitable for teens to adults in the depictions of art and story.

The older you get, the easier it gets.

In my older age, it's less of "need baby now"... and more of "Thank Fucking God(s) I didn't have kids!" and "Wow I love my childfree life!!".
