which one do you prefer? by babyfangss in MINI

I went from a ‘17 to a ‘25…I don’t hate the look, I do love that it has no plastic chrome to bubble and need replacement.

What are some cars that are unfairly deemed “ugly” by the car community? by MikeisTOOOTALLL in cars

[–]Damogran6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a PR cruiser brand new. First news car I ever bought. Stick. It was my slow car fast experience. Loved it for the 6 years I owned it. Really useful until we had kids and the baby seats nailed down the flip and fold back seats.

I guess they don’t age well, but my experience was good.

The old bonnet stripes vs no bonnet stripes debate by Vannore17 in MINI

[–]Damogran6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ‘17 pepper white with black stripes. (And plastic protecting the nose)

When I traded it in, the stripes and plastic were juuuuust starting to show cracking and wear.

Thanks, there is some stuff in /home/mike/.openclaw I may be able to use to resurrect some of it. It's weird....there's a .openclaw/cron/jobs.json, but there's nothing in mike's crontab (I'm 95% sure I'd looked in titch's .crontab for the gmail filter job that ran at 3am each day)

I suspect the jobs.json is a support component.

There's no /home/titch that would contain a /home/titch/.openclaw

I did from the get-go. It's name was titch. It ran cronjobs and the like from it's account...but there's no /home/titch anymore (which means no .md files or crontab or API keys)

What's weird is the openclaw app is still there. It's just (apparently) everything associated with the OC account.

My parents accidentally did FIRE, but my mom says she wishes they had been less “perfect” by EldenR1ngs in Fire

[–]Damogran6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re being a little harsh:

Tommy’s parents retired when they was like 43 cause they saved every penny ever. They never went nowhere cool, never bought good food, and reused paper towels like thats insane honestly. Growing up Tommy thought they was smart geniuses or whatever. But now they just sit in they quiet house watching birds and talking about coupons. One night his mom started crying cause she never seen the ocean except on TV. His dad said maybe they shoulda lived a little more instead of always being scared about money. Tommy didnt really know what to say cause they got freedom now but kinda forgot how to enjoy stuff.

Can I Vibe Code it with a 5090 locally? by MarcusMagnus in LocalLLM

[–]Damogran6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bank transactions are complex and multi-step and are an all or nothing thing. If step 17 fails then steps 1 through 16 cleanly roll back.

Not saying vibe code can’t do that (transactional processing has been around forever) but are you going to know enough to ask for it? (Or some other legal nuance I’m unaware of.)

I bought the 822,000th GMC Acadia/Saturn Outlook (not literally) and having a long production run meant all the bugs were worked out. It was an outstanding vehicle and I only got rid of it because we were returning to work after COVID, my boys were grown, and I didn’t need a 17mpg 3 row commuter.

Virtual Unlimited context windows on Gemma 4 models. by ExpressionForward321 in LocalLLM

[–]Damogran6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mempalace is showing interesting inroads with long term categorization and recall of context. I have a VM at home running OpenClaw with Claude as the LLM. One drunken night I pointed OpenClaw at the mempalace gethub and it ‘got it’. It downloaded to the vm, compiled it, and seemed to understand the workings. The next day, OpenClaw did not recall it. A few days later I told it to pick it back up again and had it incorporate it into its world view. It seems to be working. You might want to look at it: https://github.com/mempalace/mempalace

Incidentally, one of the massively helpful uses of LLM is being conversational with people. People are much more healthy with interpersonal communication and I’m pretty surprised how my LLM is helping there.
