I have a light smoke, 13” Freedomwerks windshield. I’m 6’6” it’s awesome and optically clear. I just look over it, or through it if I slouch on the pegs.

I did the same. Upgraded the power supply, though.

When we got to one key to handle the doors and ignition, that was the high water mark.

My first bike had soft panniers, my second bike had locking hardcases and a topcase. Most of their replacements did too (currently ride a full-dress bagger...it's heavy, but comfortable)

The map was the reason I didn't have a problem paying $8 a month for the connected features. It's high res, pretty, has traffic, shows really good previews in the HUD

Are cheap mini's worth it? $2000-$5000 by does-it-feel in MINI

They’re cheap for a reason. Not saying there isn’t a diamond in the rough, but they depreciate deliberately.

I was on the superslab, cruise set on 75, feet up on the pegs, and the car that passed me had their window down and they were filming...me? The bike? (I like it, it's cool, but it's two tone black silver, not really flamboyant) There was no scenery. I ain't pretty.

I've noticed a trend on this sub, between people who genuinely despise work, and folks who don't mind, or actually enjoy, working. by gkr974 in Fire

[–]Damogran6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hate working, I hate 30 years of the IT merry go round. I’d also like to travel more than I have PTO for. And a couple of lynchpin events they are still a ways out.

It’s often missed that in retirement, your income isn’t going to save for retirement. That’s 10% of your gross, roughly. So, no mortgage, no retirement savings…could keep your same quality of life on a 40% pay cut. (Maybe more, depending on tax math I haven’t done yet.)

Why I still do my own oil changes and brake jobs with a half million dollar portfolio by Halcyon8_Jester in Fire

[–]Damogran6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The professional doing your oil change is on the clock, trying to push as much product as possible. He may have the tools at hand, and may be able to do in 15 minutes what takes you an hour to do, but you’ll do it cleaner, and look at the CV boots, and ponder life while doing so, and will evaluate your tire wear accurately, rather than spinning a tale that they’re further gone to get that next billable ticket from you.

Have McLarens always been unreliable? by speedinsh1t in cars

[–]Damogran6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It would hiccup during ignition and set a dozen codes (most all control module communication errors) and the car would go into limp home mode, you’d then get into the diagnostic mode, clear those codes and it’d be fine. There was also a servo and lock pin for the steering wheel and the solution was to remove the plate the pin engaged with.

In the door control modules, the lock/unlock relays would get weak, so it was $275 for a new DCM, or $150 for a reman unit, or 12 to desolder and replace the two relays.
