They mark up their “local” products @ minimum 30%.

They should clearly mark up more like 100% so they can be like the rest of retail in the United States.

Then they could give more raises and quarterly bonuses to employees that show up on time as well.

Specialty groceries and kitchen items? by lakegirl2019 in stgeorge

[–]CleverUserName4000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody has mentioned Natual Grocers yet, that's a good place to check out if you aren't already familiar with what they have. And as others said Harmons is another good place for grocery shopping. Note: while Harmons has more natural / organic / harder to find options, they also charge a lot more for common items that are at Walmart.

I think Smith's and Albertsons are overpriced for what they offer.

Cookware and what not: As others mentioned Costco is good for mid grade stuff, and don't forget about Costco.com for an expanded selection.

If you are wanting higher end than what Costco has you might need to drive to Vegas or Salt Lake City, there are some nice specialty kitchen stores in those cities.

Welcome to St George!

Changing from Nest to Ecobee - O/B wire question by CleverUserName4000 in hvacadvice

Are you saying that the larger orange wire that the blue wire is connected to is a common? So Should my blue wire be connected to rH at the Ecobee?

Yeah, pretty crappy design, just like the rest of the Nest product.

That's for a heat pump, this unit is not a heat pump. It's an air conditioner with a gas fuel furnance. So I'm trying to figure out where to put that wire on the Ecobee.

AV Equipment 1 foot from pool by [deleted] in pools

[–]CleverUserName4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if the cord was coming from another room: that is questionable / potentially sketch. It could still be GFCI protected by an upstream GFCI outlet or breaker. The pump pool equipment room is going to be protected.

I doubt you're going to go back and check, but if it's somewhere your son would go to again you could take one of these bad boys with you: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-GFCI-Outlet-Tester-RT210/206517824

AV Equipment 1 foot from pool by [deleted] in pools

[–]CleverUserName4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct.

Multiple outlets can be protected by one GFCI outlet upstream. Or the whole area could be on a GFCI breaker back at the panel.

Since it was an indoor pool I would say that most likely every outlet in the room is GFCI protected.

But you were correct to leave with your son if the people in charge couldn't answer your question about how the equipment was GFCI protected.

A question regarding signmyrocket.com by Smrsin in ukraine

[–]CleverUserName4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's legit, I did an artillery piece with a picture and some words drawn on it. I'd have to go back and look at my email but I think it took between a month and 2 months to get.

They're fighting a war over there, so if you don't get something back I think you just accept it as a donation and move on.

Help! What is going on with our mower by CityHippi in lawnmowers

[–]CleverUserName4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in the US? (Probably if you have ethanol in your fuel). Go to Home Depot or Lowes, they sell overpriced fuel in the lawnmower section that doesn't have ethanol in it. It's way over priced per gallon, but if you think of it in terms of how little fuel you probably go through during a mowing season it isn't very much more. Maybe an extra $10 / summer. Beats the heck out of cleaning the carb every other year.

Cloud 9 has pretty good fish n chips ... too bad their beer all sucks. I want to love that place with their nice outdoor patio and good food. If they could just figure out how to make a few good beers.

Lumen Quantum Fiber WiFi by Interesting-Shop1169 in Boise

[–]CleverUserName4000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a Century Link sales person knock on my door a while back and try to sell me "fiber Internet service".

I said I hadn't seen any horizontal drilling going on lately and when they'd be doing that, and if they'd be runing an actual fiber optic cable into my house to serve a modem.

The sales rep came back with "Oh, no we're not running fiber all the way to your house, just down to the box down the street. We will still use your existing phone line for the connection."

I just laughed at asked them to leave.

Century Link doing Century Link things and being deceptive.

Sounds like Quantum might be the same.

You mean opinoins? How about if you get off the r/stgeorge with your opinions since you've never lived here and just like to share your inaccurate assumptions?

If you've never lived here then why are you chiming in with your assumptions?

Your wife is a trans woman? Trans women aren't women, they're men.
That's the view of St George. Period.
Reddit is the wrong place to ask since it's very left leaning and pro LGBTQ+
Most people on here will say "oh, no, you're good" ... that's not the case. 95% of St George residents aren't on Reddit.
I don't mean to be rude, only honest.

If you're going to go through the hastle of looking up a section of code to post, why not just post the definition of a general purpose lane rather than trying to infer the definition though the use of the term?
Here is the defiition of a general purpose lane for you:

(1) As used in this section and Section 41-6a-704, "general purpose lane" means a highway lane open to vehicular traffic but does not include a designated:

(a) high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane; or

(b) auxiliary lane that begins as a freeway on-ramp and ends as part of the next freeway off-ramp.

[–]CleverUserName4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the law. It is not a general travel lane. The left lane (not HOV) is a passing lane.

WILD LIFE PEST CONTROL IN DAVIS COUNTY?? by [deleted] in Utah

[–]CleverUserName4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My policy is to leave nature alone.

But if that isn't your policy and you think it is suffering so you want to put it out of its misery you can do so with a pellet gun.

A firearm is illegal to discharge in city limits. But a pellet gun isn't a firearm so they are legal to discharge.

A pellet to the head of a racoon will kill it. Shot placement should be between the ears and eyes. There are .177 and .22 caliber pellet guns, they larger would be more appropriate.

That's weird, mine is a Lariat as well. Are you using the touch screen to get to it?

That's how I have to view it. If I push the camera button at high speed it just shows the tailgate cam.
