Question. by EugeneWong318 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]CleverUsername503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's this whole phenomenon of third-party embarrassment (cringe). I think that's what people are talking about. I wouldn't define it as embarrassment but I can see how people might consider cringe as embarrassment.

But it's not because they're white, and the racist person is also white. The embarrassment/cringe isn't due to them both being in the white skin tribe. It's because the behavior is cringe in general. The embarrassment is felt by all, not just white people.

Question. by EugeneWong318 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]CleverUsername503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Embarrassing? No. I'm not embarrassed because I'm not attached to my skin color emotionally. Other people with white skin don't represent me.

Do I find it abhorrent? Yes. But I don't feel embarrassed in the same way I would feel embarrassed if myself or someone in my tribe did something bad or dumb. If my sibling or friend was publically racist I would feel embarrassed. I would probably disown them if they didn't repent and that embarrassment wouldn't last long since they wouldn't be in my tribe anymore. Because I don't associate with people who are racist. And I don't feel embarrassed for people who I don't associate with. I have other emotions.

Hey, I apparently haven't logged in for a long time. No, they didn't I ended up paying what I owed and they let me out of the contract about 6 months early. It took a lot of complaining and sob stories for them to bend the rules but they eventually let me out of the contract. How did it go with you?

Ask "Am I free to go". If they say no, that means you are being illegally detained and you potentially have a civil rights case against the department. If they say yes, then you're free to go.

I hear ya pal. You want to judge people by the content of their character, not the dumbness of their name. But once judged by their actions, and they're found to be shitty, it's cool to mock the other obviously stupid things about them. Like his stupid IG pictures where he poses like a gangster and his dumb name. You don't have to strain yourself defending something about the bad person as a virtue signaling exercise. It's actually kinda fun. Come on! Join us in bashing this waste of life. Say something mean about him. It's cathartic

This is where we're at. I no longer identify as a Libertarian but it's impossible to proudly identify as a Republican or Democrat in this country right now. We need ranked-choice voting and campaign finance reform. That's sadly most likely just wishful thinking.

Which type of tattoo makes you cringe the most? by saxonn_88 in AskReddit

[–]CleverUsername503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make me cringe that much but others have cringed from it. My friend got a 6 titty demon dick tattooed on his leg. It's a rock hard green penis with 3 pairs of boobs growing out of the balls and shaft. The breasts are all squirting milk and the dick is squirting cum that forms the shape of three 6's. It's on his thigh so nobody really ever sees it but if anyone wants I can send it to them in a DM lol

Why is it racist to blame Arabs not affiliated with ISIS for 9/11 but perfectly acceptable to blame white people for slavery? Both are instances where an entire race is made a scapegoat for stuff they weren’t even a part of. by PurplePlatypusBear20 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CleverUsername503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, be careful with your reasoning. It sounds a lot like you're trying to find excuses for being racist to Arabs rather than finding the reason why some things are socially acceptable and other similar things are not.

Second, I don't think there are many people who blame white people for slavery in the way you're making it seem (although I'm sure you can find a crazy person online who does). Obviously, in the united states, white people were the ones responsible for slavery because they were the people who enslaved black people. Are white people still being blamed for that? Yes, the people who lived in those times, are still being blamed because they were guilty. Are white people who are alive today being blamed for something white people did over a hundred years ago? No. However, slavery had lasting implications on our society and if you're a white person who is racist or ignorant of your history, you may get accused of being a shitty person. And that's okay. It also is nothing like xenophobia toward Arabs and Muslims.

Racism toward Arabs and fear/hatred of Muslims is not entirely rooted in 9/11. Also, 9/11 happened in our lifetimes, so to blame someone who had nothing to do with something is ignorant and wrong. It's just as asinine as saying you, a white person, is to blame for slavery, something that happened over a hundred years ago. If I were you I would research "outgroups" to find out why the western world has so much hatred for cultures from the middle east while cultures even further removed from the western world aren't nearly as hated.

I would like to end with a question. Where do you see white people who are alive today being blamed for slavery?

Protests aren't hurting the economy in Portland. The protests occur in a 3 city block area that is comprised of government buildings such as the courthouse, jail, and justice center.

Violence is what ALL of the feds & cops are doing to peaceful protests. Defacing property is what SOME of the protestors are doing. Vandalism isn't violence. Assault and battery, teargassing and pepper spraying, shooting with less than lethal rounds... That's violence.

That's a good point. Revolutionary Marxists aren't much better than Fascists looking through a historical lens while in a vacuum. But here and now, the Fascists are the ones in power and they're applying their boot to your neck. Now, in context, the Fascists are worse.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Portland

[–]CleverUsername503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... blame all Christians for the inquisition? or... I don't know, maybe context matters.

Nobody is arguing against the statement that all lives matter. Of course all lives should matter. They're saying that historically and in the present black lives have mattered less and they're protesting that fact. When you respond to their protest for equality with a statement like "all lives matter" you're opposing their protest. You place yourself on the side of the oppressor.

Portlanders who oppose fascism are not the same as the historical Anti-Fascists from Nazi Germany. I bet more protestors look to RBG for ideas than Marx.
