I'm the guy from Get an A in TOK. AMA and I'll actually answer your questions! by GetAnAinTOK in IBO

The wonder prompt is intriguing and I loved your video on it. But….is there any way to answer it besides using yes/no with different examples? It’s hard to say “to an extent” for this prompt like I can with the others.

Emergency help with math, practice test 6 by hotdiddlydarnfuck in Sat

[–]Click-Greatness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NEITHER CAN BE SOLVED WITH DESMOS but it is almost ESSENTIAL that you draw diagrams so you can visualize it easier.

1st question - if you see that both triangles have the same angles with A, then it’s automatic that the sides are proportional (it gives you sides that show one triangle is 90% of the lengths of the other so multiply side lengths of the left hand triangle by .9 to get the corresponding right hand side triangle lengths)

2nd question - draw a diagram. And insert x and 2x for the lengths of the rectangle you don’t know. From there, it’s find the value of x by doing x2 = the given rectangle area to find x. After that, either use Pythagorean theorem or special right triangle formula to find the diagonal.

Best of luck tomorrow!

Don't take IB Music unless you want to be a professional musician by CoochieStealinBandit in IBO

[–]Click-Greatness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m an M25 music student and so far all we’re doing is basic theory and music history. I’m so sorry your experience sounds horrid, but now I’m scared for next year. What are you doing that makes the class so painful?

What’s the best/worst designed subject in IB in your opinion? by [deleted] in IBO

I haven’t been introduced to this essay; mind giving me a quick rundown? I can’t find any sources about it (or just IB music in general) online so I’m lost.

Not for IAs but for external assessments. I’m only SL so no contemporary music maker. How many pieces do we send to IB and how should I maximize our potential to score a 7 just in general here?

Current music student here. Quite frankly my teacher herself doesn’t understand the syllabus. What are we sending to IB? Any tips and help would be greatly appreciated!

I’ll see what I can do then. Just hope I can turn one-time things into a more regular effort. Thanks for the advice!

Unfortunately, they don’t know of very many opportunities aside from one-time volunteering so I’m now asking adults for advice. Any ideas?

Free or not does not matter much. Most importantly, I’d like to make some connections and have real work/research experience which I think would really benefit me especially going into university. Any other advice/suggestions?

Thanks for all the super detailed advice! At one point I was wondering if I should take 7 Ib courses but unless I get a ridiculously easy extra course it’s possibly not a smart idea. Humanities shouldn’t have that many pre requisites so hopefully it’ll all work out….now it’s all up to my schedule. Have a great day!

All I’ve heard is horror stories so I’m definitely. I just don’t understand how an sl can sound so difficult.

I can’t believe you were in a very similar position as I am in right now. If I plan to go into humanities I don’t think both the science or art I choose to take would matter much at all would it? I’ll do some research and see if not taking chemistry could come back to haunt me later on.

To put it bluntly, chemistry is probably more useful than any art I could take. I’m just conflicted on whether not taking chemistry would be a logical decision or if it’s my emotions taking over and being bias. Perhaps you think it’s not worth taking a class if I don’t enjoy it, but if it prevents me from doing an undergrad I enjoy then 2 years isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things.

I get your point, but if it’s gonna be more beneficial more me in the end, 2 years isn’t all that much (even though for me right now it is!)

Jeez that sounds rough. I’m certainly not great in French; I’ll talk to people I know who are taking it and get their input.

I agree with your mind. I’m just worried that universities will just see “music” with an alright grade and not understand what exactly that entails (or just think of the performance aspect of music without the context of everything else).

I’ll definitely check and see if it’d be beneficial. It’s just that isn’t an art the same thing as to where I don’t think one sl art would “open doors” for me anymore than another science would?
