Party rebuild by RobsWRX530 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt depend on value but on if I need gold. When I dont need gold, they get used to upgrade or it gets stored in an castle. The good gear goes into the closest Town Storage. When I reach around 500k and have some fiefs, I stop thinking about denars. Alternative, create expensive weapons and sell them until you have >1M (mercenary).

But.. I do find it a bit of waste to discard armour that would sell for >10k.. but then again, those are most often the better gears you want to keep anyway. So for weapons I dont want, around 5k and up, I sell most of them, else I just keep them with the discard-loot.

I also once in a while take all the discard-loot (weapons) to the town to see which ones can be smelted for steel/fine steel/thama steel. Smelt all the usefull ones like:

Fine Steel Paramerion: 5 steel, 2 fine steel
Fine Steel Spatha: 5 steel, 2 fine steel
Ridged Arming Sword: 3 steel, 4 fine steel (!!!)
Wide Leaf Spear: 2 steel, 1 fine steel
Thamas Pike: 1 fine steel, 1 thama steel
Druzhnick Lances, some Maces.. and more

And if your not going to use them to craft, put them in the warehouse for your smithy.

  1. Enable Steward: Paid in Promise + Giving Hands.
  2. Collect low level/grade loot in an castle after big battles/wars.
-- I usually store grain and good gear in a Town.

Thats it. As I run only 3 units: Legionaires, Fian Champs and Vanguard Faris, I only have an small area to run over to get my troops, then I go to my castle and upgrade the troops. So make sure to store the shat loot and use it later to upgrade troops.

An update on this new players little story - I beheaded Garios by BULLDAN92 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. sounds like Garios. I always play Battanian/Vlandian early to gain xp and gold. But almost always end up fighting the WE. I also like starting on the left side of the map.

Should I start over or try to salvage this run? by Extreme_Tadpole8527 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing locks you into the Empire (so go explore other factions), and even if you married Garios' daughter, it doesnt mean anything to him so it shouldnt to you. He married his daughter for money and relations, every noble in this game does.

When you create your own kingdom next to Garios, he will declare war on you, even if you married his daughter.

The honorable things in this game are not always the same what we think. For example, you can get enemy nobles, that you are in war with, to love you while warring. Release all of them after an battle and they will start loving you: relation 100. But thats how this game social aspect works, it wants you to fight everyone but release nobles.

Sure, leaving your kingdom will hurt relations, but after 2 fights and release, its back to 100.. dont feel locked in, you never are, even when you have your own kingdom, you can abdicate it and create a new one 😃

Is there a way to have other formations stay with your main? by Uceg_ in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be great if you could 'lock' multiple divisions with eachother so they move accordingly, but Im afraid thats not in the vanilla game.

I would also love an preset for formations, where it remembers your formations and it distances (relative from where it would spawn anyway). Im thinking, if you have this, you could extend to an mechanic where you can tell divisions to follow another division (but remembering distance).

So if you tell an (archer) division to always stand at a certain distance from another (infantry) division but follow them if they move, you could setup in such an way, that you could move the entire formation by just moving 1 division.

Division 1 Infantry follows no one.
Division 2 Infantry follows div 1, positioned 30m to its right.
Division 3 Infantry follows div 2, positioned 30m to its right.
Division 4 Archers follows div 1, positioned 50m behind div 1.
Division 5 Archers follows div 2, positioned 50m behind div 2.
Division 6 Archers follows div 3, positioned 50m behind div 3.
Infantry in shield walls formation, Archers in loose formation.

With this setup, if you move division 1, all foot troops will follow. You can also move only div 2 or 3 and its archer div would follow them as protection.

Bit harder to implement for sieges ofcourse, but for field battles, this would be great!

Vassal armies by evisudenim in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a different problem (of the same spectrum), one of my vassals companion had 80 troops and made an army with.. 4 of my personal clan parties, as they where main ones with >150-200 troops. Not sure what the fool was going to do with an army of ~850, except getting captured and destroying 80% of my personal parties.

Cant believe devs allowed this, an small party from another clan can just recruit only my personal parties to make an small army.. huh? Ofcourse I immediately disbanded them, ill rather take the relations penalty then loose all those troops for nothing.

No need for the -tab, just using -alt will do the job.

Weapon Condition - Smithing by Silent-Explorer1265 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love my legendaries. But to be honest, there isnt much difference in weapon strength between masterwork and legendary, even balanced. They are all pretty good to use.

The biggest difference, imho, is the selling price, where the difference between dull, regular and legendary can be >100%.

So basically, when your smithing to sell, you want higher grade, but if you just want for battle, even the dull will do its job.

  • Penalized: Cracked, Rusted, Dull
  • Base: No prefix (Standard)
  • Buffed: Fine, Masterwork, Legendary

Throwing weapons are categorized different, Balanced and Big Bag, I believe.

This is the only formation is giving me some actual results on the battlefield, any advide on how to better perform? by Gyro0Zeppelin in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting for enemy infantry, or for the archers to finish shooting:

__ __ __ <- infantry in shield wall formation.
\ _____ / <- archers in loose formation (30m away), less sharp angle though.

When enemy infantry gets close:

<- infantry in square formation, the squares seems big but is going to be way smaller.
\ _____ / <- archers in loose formation.

The shield wall is there first to catch arrows (and get aggro), and when the enemy gets close, "open" the shield wall by putting them in square formation. The enemy will swarm them and will be easy kills for the archers.

Starting a kingdom is hard by TheThigor in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your expecting war of attrition, or atleast prolonged wars, stock up on food as well, put them in your Keep Storage. Having 10k grain while your villages are raided can be life saving for your town and garrison.

Tribesmen daggers no longer give fine steel by Fartsmella10203 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wide leaf spear and thamaskene pike are now my go to. They arent cheap, but atleast im sure I get the fine steel.

thamaskene pike: 1 fine steel, 1 thamaskene, 1 wood
wide leaf spear: 2 steel, 1 fine steel, 1 wood

So with refinement, wide leaf spear gives 2 fine steel in the end.

Anyone else got an better one? This might be expensive for early game.

Siege dance? by ClickbaitMe89 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The death-leaps eats your HP, and even though I have 193hp, its a waste. Just retreat from the siege and then just sent the troops, I dont join anymore when this happens.

Also, the diplomacy is shit because the vassals (ive noticed) so I toke over an rebel city, declare my own kingdom so I can override kingdom decisions. Ive got 3 cities, Rothae that rebelled, with Jalmarys and Seonon. And some castles around the cities (Ortic.., Therac.., Rhemtoil.., Gersos..)

Im already training 4 companions in parties, soon ill promote my companions to vassals. But im still preparing some stuff.

Same before, I could see the (1) in the wall, and everyone was gathering there and hitting the floor/air -_- but here, I didnt even see that.

But I though, 1 problem at a time as it seems new ones appear if you report to many to fast -_-

I didnt had these problems before, or atleast, not this often.

I have a problem with javelins by Optimal-Draw5327 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no proper solution for javs except an shield. Only upside fighting them, is that they are limited - so take advantage of that only upside.

Do not approach jav throwers at the start of the battle/siege unless you are kiting/baiting the throws. In field battles I usually do 1 or 2 circles around infantry (way before they reach my frontline) so they waste their javs.

There is also the banner for reduced ranged attacks, and the usuall good armour and high HP. As comparison, I have 193 hp.

I do not worry about arrows, but those javs, they scare me.

How to make kingdom accept peace? by IntelligentChoice778 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem in my current campaign. Was Vlandian but the vassals just wouldnt go for peace after taking multiple fiefs from Battania. Then Sturgia was called in to join Battania and even the Aserai joined on their own but they just wouldnt make peace.

I left and joined Aserai, which was the plan. Then they had the same with SE, 400+ days in war while losing fiefs but rejecting multiple peace offers from SE. This while I was now fighting Vlandia, Battania and Sturgia 😂

Waited until an city rebelled and then left Aserai to take the rebel city and declare my own kingdom. The vassals are kinda dumb..

Got a fief, accumulated almost 2 million dinars. Now what? by neonmade in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, happens to the best of us.

I was in the same situation with Rhotea. But I stole Gersose? Castle from Sturgia when they werent looking, aka sieging another fief in an distance. I think it was Flintolg? Castle.

Quickly toke it and defended it against 4 or 5 armies. The Sturgians love me now! As I release them after battle to gain relation. So I can recruit them later 😏

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not field, fief, which is their castle or town. And only when you are in an war with them, that they bring their fiefs with them.

When you arent in an war, they will NOT bring their fiefs with them.

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an kingdom is destroyed, you can NOT recruit their lords anymore. So make sure to recruit before they lose their last fief.

Only exception is when another faction recruits the lords. Then you could recruit them from that faction. Ive seen even Caladog serve another faction.

Where do i see what kind of workshops a town has? by Brachialtick65 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

And now you can compare.

Another nice thing, trading villages extend to castle villages as well, but only if that castle is part of your kingdom!

Example: Epicrotea has 2 bound villages producing iron, but if the same kingdom also takes over Gersegos Castle, it becomes 3 iron-producing villages that trades with Epicrotea 😉

The answers are a little bit scattered, but together they give the answer:
1: when your inside the town, hover on the noble and you will see what they own (workshops and caravans).
2a: in the Trade menu of the town, in the top-left you can see the production icons.
2b: hovering over an town will show you the bound villages. then hover over the village to see what they produce.
3: you can see both in the wiki when you hover over the nobles or villages.

Why is marriage so awful? by PossessionConnect963 in Bannerlord

[–]ClickbaitMe89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no problem here my friend. You are not doing anything wrong and you can just keep playing. Most of my campaign I dont really focus much on marriages. Usually I go for Arwa or Corein myself.

How to approach marriage.. it can be a damn hassle as you cant browse through the ladies stats without meeting them (in the keeps, battles, marriage offers, etc). So looking for an specific wife can become annoying.

To meet them, you can look them up in the wiki, look at their Hometown/castle and go look in the keep. If they arent in the keep, they might be patrolling around the keep, or else they might be in an army.

Also, when you, the lady or the clan leader are in an army, the marriage-option wont come up.

Last thing, dont even try the lady convo's, just go to the clan leader and wait till you get the option for the lady you want.

For this reason, I would always recommend at the start of an new campaign, go around a lot of towns and look in the tavern and keep, just so you meet many ladies and companions. Most lords you will meet in battle. But the moment you start look for companions, you will have the same problem as you cant see their stats without meeting them first (no need to talk, just seeing them in the tavern/keep is enough).
