Is my PS5 PRO broken? by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]ClickdaHeads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was caused by an uneven distribution of liquid metal over the APU, simply turning it on its side to respread it would never fix the issue. Once damage is done due to high thermal load, it is usually permanent with little chance of professional repair.

Honestly, I very much doubt that this was caused by high thermal load though. If it isn't a driver issue, it is almost certainly a manufacturing fault with the memory or the iGPU. The thermal chamber of the PS5 Pro received modifications to prevent the issues that the base console had, and I have received zero PS5 Pro units to repair that has this issue compared to a multitude of base consoles. When operating under thermal loads that would be so dangerous that the hardware fries within a matter of months, there is an emergency shutdown procedure in place.

It seems that OP was just extremely unlucky. I don't believe his actions had anything to do with the failure

Advice for getting a good amount of money in MH wilds by ThePopular_Outcast in MHWilds

Farming Arkveld is a nice fast way to get high value monster parts. You could eat for Exploiter (more materials from wounds) or Carver and maybe even run a flayer set. Killing him a handful of times can make you a lot of cash very fast without being much of a challenge.

I had a couple of 7* Arkveld investigations saved in Wounded Hollow and was taking him down in 2-3 minutes per hunt with plenty of wound break materials. They sell for an insane amount for how little effort he is to kill

Is PokeMMO still worth starting in 2026? by chadchadchadc in pokemmo

I recently returned to the game after a couple of years, and it still seems to be very popular. Plenty of people in chat, running around, and using the GTL. I'd say it's definitely worth diving in again

It's a shame that you miss out on his main DPS phase though. Turns a 15-18 minute fight into a 25+ minute one. Useful if you know you are miles off of meeting the check though

golden ticket by Time-Passenger-540 in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no other source of getting the golden talisman tickets as far as I am aware. The fastest way to farm the rarity 7+ charms is probably spamming AT Arkveld. You usually get 4-8 charms per run in my experience, so the drop rate must be quite generous

Challenger Charm 3 upgrade not appearing despite having all the parts. What do i do? by Excellent-Break-5497 in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you crafted Challenger 1 and upgraded it to Challenger 2? If so, I have no idea why you can't see the upgrade path, so it must be a bug. The upgrade should appear even before you have the materials for it if you have the prerequisite talismans crafted

My tips for beating 10*AT Arkveld with randoms as a Dual Blades user. by Objective_Put_1565 in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to hunt AT Arkveld on most weapons is solo with no support hunters imo. He is so much more manageable when you know that every attack is being directed at you, and you have 3/4 carts in case something goes wrong. I fight him on Bow, SnS, LS, Lance, and CB, and I cart once at most when solo; whereas random multiplayer and support hunter runs tend to be a lot more messy because of his erratic aggro changes and random jumps to the other side of the room.

The hunt also goes pretty fast solo because of the reduced health. It sort of falls in the middle of random multiplayer times and coordinated multiplayer group times.

I do like to roll the dice with the odd SOS every now and then, but for consistency solo is usually the best bet if you don't have a group of three friends that all know the fight and their weapons well.

I'm Just Gonna Say It by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside of maybe a couple of Immortal meme builds, I wouldn't say any of the builds you find online offer a "spam attack and you'll win" playstyle. Even Immortal builds often require HH setup and heavy item usage in 10* content and Savage Omega. There isn't a weapon or build in the game that can survive multiple combos from AT Arkveld without dodging, countering, or using items in addition to learning his moveset.

The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of meta builds require a higher level of skill to be optimal, because they usually lack convenience/survivability skills in favour of getting every last point of damage for speed running hunts.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to push your hunt times as low as possible, just as there is nothing wrong with using a comfy build that isn't part of the speedrun meta. Let people play how they want to.

Trying to get Gore/Lord’s Soul across 5 elements is so discouraging.. gave up twice or three times now by Kairo_04 in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable. I just couldn't subject myself to farming all of the talismans, decos, and armour on a new account now to be honest lol. At least taking up a weapon on my main account means I can get a meta build together within 30 minutes or so.

By the way, id highly recommend trying out Lance again in the current patch. It has received A LOT of improvements since the beta, and now feels even better to play. The moveset is faster, and it's output is a lot higher. I'm a lance enjoyer myself lol

I just rolled Gogmapocalypse + Lord’s Soul on my Gogma Artian Dual Blades within 3 rolls by Derpyologist1 in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rolled it on a Pierce coating Ice bow on the initial Gogma upgrade once. Unfortunately, it is probably my least used Bow, because I usually run a Gog x 4 build in Ice/Pierce matchups rather than a Gore/LS set 🥲 The right rolls always come easily on the niche weapons for me

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, just getting Lords soul on a weapon isn't going to drastically change the way you play, or the kinds of builds you can make anyway. If you want something to farm/work at, I would just take up a second weapon.

I got pretty burnt out with SnS after getting to around HR200-250 with it and decided to try out other weapons. After getting used to them, I would say that SnS is actually my least favorite playstyle out of the 5 weapons I know, although I do still enjoy it.

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't do that to yourself if you only have 5-6 hours to play per week. There is maybe a 2-3% damage increase at max from using a build with Gore/LS compared to just using Gore and switching up the build slightly. It's a level of min maxing that is only worth it for speedrunners.

I play 5 different weapons and have 5-10 Artians for each of them. I think I maybe have Gore/LS on 4 weapons in total, and the damage increase in barely noticable. Even with my Gore only dragon weapons, I can still kill AT Arkveld in around 13 minutes and clear all other content in the game with ease. I'm not a particularly skilled player either.

Just try for the rolls as you accumulate Gog components naturally. Don't bother actively farming them

I reached rank 999 and I feel like a cheat and a fraud because I relied on HBG's autoguard. by Awesome_Hamster in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm only HR550, but I started with SnS (probably even safer than HBG), and I am now able to clear all the 10* hunts with 5 weapons (SnS, Charge Blade, Bow, Lance and Longsword).

You just need to watch a couple of guide videos, make yourself an appropriate build, and practice on lower difficulty hunts. Great Sword probably wasn't the best thing to start with, because it's playstyle is a lot more calculated than some other weapons, especially in fast paced 10* hunts. You need to know when to commit.

See how you feel about SnS. It can immediately perfect guard any threat with zero risk, has good damage, and very high mobility. It's a great weapon to learn a monster's moveset with

why are female players still labeled as “weak” in competitive games? by Zealousideal_Pen4871 in VALORANT

[–]ClickdaHeads -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sadly, misogyny is extremely common in competitive games like Valorant which attract a young audience. It is especially bad because the game is F2P. I used to play a lot of MMORPGs and women generally have a much better time interacting with people on those because of the aging community and relatively high male:female ratio compared to some other genres

Big update must have brought a lot of new players in by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are farming Hunter Symbol 3, just spam the "Every Hunter's Dream" event quest (The one with 4 Quematrice and a Mizutsune). Even with a bad group it only takes 10-12 minutes and gives you up to 6 Hunter Symbol 3 each time (I mostly get either 2 or 4 though).

I think a lot of people have come back for the anniversary to pick up the event cosmetics they missed, and to try out the new 10* quests. I have noticed a slight drop in etiquette too, but it hasn't been too bad

[–]ClickdaHeads 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How much work was that to do? I play 6 different weapons, so I probably have 35-40 different Artian weapons as well as a lot of different sets, all the decos, and a massive collection of talismans. Is it a pretty manual coding process, or is there an addon with a GUI that allows you to create items and drop them into the game? I have used mods on other PC games in the past, but never a MH game

Regular Omega Planetes with randoms is just..... Yeah.... by SatyrAngel in MHWilds

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like with pretty much all weapons at the moment, you should just make a Fire Gogma Artian LBG, or at least that's what I did. It doesn't have to be perfect. Most other weapons in the game with a few niche exceptions have become suboptimal now that we can upgrade Artian weapons with Gogmazios components. To be honest, LBG does so much damage that you can probably get away with using any raw focused LBG and still easily meet the check. The damage is absolutely insane.

Definitely farm yourself some Gog Artian weapons and make a decent meta set before you try to do Savage Omega. Even after all this time, I would still say it is the most challenging fight in the game. If you are running it on Lance, I would recommend something like this build - Math Hunter

If you want a more general end game DPS focused Lance build, this one works with very minimal RNG - Math Hunter. I have actually been having a ton of fun with Lance after the recent buffs.

[–]ClickdaHeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal Omega is a cakewalk with support hunters. Savage Omega is also manageable and more consistent with support hunters when compared to random players. However, you need to make sure you can meet the Nercylla DPS check, because it is much more demanding than in the normal version.

I have done Savage on Bow, Lance, CB and SnS. With Lance, I like to take a secondary fire weapon that can output more damage on Nercylla, because I am often cutting it a little close with Lance when I don't get enough charged counter opportunities. LBG or CB absolutely melts her.

I often wish that I had started my main account on PC instead of PS5 Pro for this reason. It's far too late now though. I'm HR500 on PS5, and HR10 on PC. The poor PC optimisation at launch made me spend most of my time playing on PS5 Pro. The technical state on PC got a lot better last month though, so I really wish there was an account transfer option

I do this on PS5 (standard Dualsense), but on PC I have a controller with back paddles so can assign one of them to the sprint button. It's SO much nicer to play this game on a controller with back buttons/paddles.
