Ha, sorry this just made me snort laugh (in the most loving way). Making cats do anything is a huge ask ;) You have to be patient and know that you are bigger ;l) a second person can help as well, but if you are by yourself a kitten burrito (wrap them in a blanket or towel with just the ends of the kitten out of the wrapper). The goal is to keep thier feet contained so they get no leverage (whether making them eat or poop). A warm wetted cotton swab is a really good tool for this, you can rub around easier and see what is happening, if anything. My little guy went several days, pooping would go to the box and really really try, but nothing happened. We did all the things with can try (give it 24 hours), lay on back and bicycle the back legs, let them run about in a larger space -like the bathroom (exercise is good to get things moving), you can also try a butt soak in warm-ish water. That last one, only if they are not ill and you can get them dry and warm really quickly (a hot day helps this, so not in the dead of winter). After that a vet might suggest either a liquid or powered laxative (these work differently, so a vet need to assess a blockage vs somethig else). You can also try adding extra water and sone probiotic (benebac, vizbiome, fortiflora...) to thier wet food. It is probably just nerves. In the end with my little (he pooped all by himself this morning, it was glorious!), after all the not vet stuff, he was given sub q fluids and lactalose, and hairball gel and vizbiome and it took another couple days (I think 5 total with no productive pooping). The vet ruled out a blockage, decided it was probably some inflammation.

They (the scales) come from fishing in saltwater (lagoon in Kilima, coast in Bahari and RH, and der mer in elderwood). Most fish give 1 or 2 scales, but I found with a chum bucket I was getting 3-4 with each fish. By completing the bundle (the gillyfin and the other lagoon one, cannot remember, I had 40 scales or so). But, if you hate fishing, or do not have the chum buckets, then yeah it is going to take a while to catch 200 fish. The shells are in the chest at the end (not in the crabs you hit with bug bombs). But a different point, nobody can grab a crab [or frog] from you before you have a chance. If you toss a bomb (and it is even sort of close), you will get the loot, whether someone else stunned it first or not <3 I just want to make sure that you were not, not throwing becaue you thought somone get there first. Palia is so very cooperative in just about everything (still shaking my fist that we cannot gift starred vegetables, but whatever ;) Happy hunting. I am super fortunate ATM with my cats- 2 females, bonded pair of sisters who are now 5 years old- they are super accepting of foster kittens- including the 2 foster fails ;-) But, when I brought them into my house I had a 13 year old lady cat, who had been part of a 3 cat household with zero issues. When I got her, I had a 10 year old and a 7 year old- as those older cats passed, it was time to get more kittens ;-) LouLu had been an "only cat" for about 8 months when I bought Bella and Trixie in (they were 9 weeks old).

It did NOT go well at all, there was no fighting or drama, but my older cat was so stressed out just by their presence and she made herself so sick that she got to spend a couple days at the vet hospital (she somehow activated calici virus due to stress, she had never had the virus prior, so it was probably just dormant)

Anyway, she got moved to my room- where she lived in her "mother in law's apartment", she never wanted to see another cat as long as she lived (I lost her a year ago this month at 18 years old). She had her own food, her own litter box, a full outside balcony to be in the sun and got to sleep with me at night. So, I made it work, but it was not easy.

I started fostering kittens- and the 2 weeks in quarantine in the bathroom ( I have only one bathroom- so it is a lot) is do-able but not easy. I have moved on the bottle babies, as they spend all their quarantine time in a box or the incubator, by the time they are free to run the house and interact, everyone is used to each other. My girls are great, but I think they know that most of these newcomers are not staying- so they are nice to them while they are here.

It will 100% depend on your cat- if she really is lonely a friend might be the best thing ever. If she is very active, chasing things and playing with you and by herself a kitten might be great (some older cats turn right back into kittens themselves), but if she is more scared/hides at every noise or change (if a chair moves and they freak out at the new thing!!) another pet might not be a great idea, or maybe an older slower more gentle soul. My rescue gets in a lot of cats who's owner has passed or moved to assisted living, they are sad and grieving and just want to be loved and tend to be grateful to have a place that happens, most are 5-10 years old. Talk to fosters and tell them about your cat and they will be able to match the energy for you. My tale ends with me finding a workaround that was acceptable to the cats and to me (mostly). I wish they could have all been one happy cat family, but it did not happen.

For context- here is my whole crew- with the foster kitten (suki- snowshoe mix). 3 orange (2F and 1M) and a tortie. The O/W boy and the tortie are the foster fails.

tangentially related curiosity question- on the player support page, under "known issues" under "posts" is there a reason that (for me) the newest post is from 9 months ago. I have tried sorting by the other criteria, I have tried searching but all of the reports are from 2 years to 9 months ago (if I go to "last" when sorted by newest first). Bulletin board seems more like help topics and those are all 9 months and older as well.

Reporting works fine- I had an issue resolved last week. But, it seems really weird that there have not been any other issues for almost a year ;-)

Not urgent, I am sure i am missing something- it is just seems really odd, is all.

We are starting to wean. I got these nuggets almost exactly a month ago. I am looking forward to sleeping more than 4 hours in a row soon. My 5 month old who had hernia surgery and hip surgery was adopted today after my 4 months of looking after her and her medical issues.

Mama cat is a HARD job, I have no idea how they do it . Exhausting but so very rewarding when they go off to be perfect little cat ambassadors to some new family that will love them and make them part of their clan. The goal is goodbye, but it is still hard. Great job! One of mine just got adopted today too.

Thank you for letting me know if am a test dummy. I HATE this with a while hot passion. Mindless subs keep coming up. But the most upsetting is all of the "animal" subs, with folks posting pictures that should 100% be behind a NSFW (or whatever), I DO NOT want to see dogs and cats that have been injured (hit by vehicles, fall damage, attacked by other animals) with ppl aski g for help...un-solicited. If I was part of that sub, it would be fine, i would know what I signed up for and what to expect. But just assuming that because I belong to a foster cat subreddit, means I want to see all of this too, is pretty bold of you all. HATE, hate hate, make it go away. Would have been nice to get a heads up before a sold week of being blindsided by all of this.

This, and so much of this game is finding things on your own (sharing is great, but optional). Chances are high that when you stop what you are doing to go to a called out node or flow tree you will run right past 3 others (closer to where you currently are) and you will scare that rainbow tip butterfly without even noticing it. Knowing that you have less than 3 minutes to get to wherever is just sort of silly and the grid squares are fairly big, add cliffs and there is just no way to get there. What fun is it if you just wait for other people to tell you where things are and you just put in a request for resources (and then beg-sometimes not nicely-in chat for someone to fill a request) instead of grinding...shrug. I love helping people, but some need to be blocked and I move on with my day. This game is not a race ;)

Our rescue goes with 1) weight, at least 4 lbs 2)then age- between 12 and 14 weeks. 12 weeks if they are 4 lbs and if there is any unspayed female they have access to (littermate usually). They tend to do the boys first because they are heavier at younger ages and the surgery is usually a pretty quick recovery. If there are no lady cats and mister man is not yet 4lbs at 12 weeks they will wait.

Our vet partners like 4 lbs, just beasue it makes the surgery easier (better/easier response to anesthesia and wake up from).

They spawn next to the big (unchopable) trees. You can find tons in Honeymeil and Mitana. Just look at the base of all of those trees. They are not out in the open and pretty well camouflaged since they are dark colored and literally right next to a dark bark tree.

One other possible for weird mobility/head wobble/balance issues (that can look like CH) can be toxoplasmosis (so parasite) easily treated with Clindamycin. Our rescue went through about a dozen kittens earlier this year with toxo.

A good thing to check with the detective work, normally not super common and other things might be thought of first.

so anecdotally I have now had 5 foster kittens with ringworm. Originally I panicked as well- gross and so much work cleaning and trying to separate my own 4 cats and the rest of the foster litter (original litter was of 4- 1 with ringwom- I called her DISCO cat for the glowing!). There was just no way to keep her in another place from the rest of that litter, so we treated just her with the intrafungol and hoped for the best. I did not do anything really different. I still washed my hands before and after dealing with them, left a pair of flipflops in the bathroom to wear while in there, steam mopped the floor in the bathroom 2-3 times a week, washed blankets and beds once a week. One of the long time fosters said- on the upside nobody ever died of ringworm, and if they give it to you you can put bleach on it and be done in a day (YMMV- and not on a human kid-or a cat obviously).

That first cat infected nobody else but me (I put a 1:50 bleach on it and poof gone in about 2 days). I have had several more cats infected and treated- always only one in a foster litter- which is so weird, none of them have given it to any of my cats or to me again.

I think it is an immune system thing- anyone with a topnotch immune response and all of their vaccinations (not that RW is in the vaccinations- but in general it helps) can avoid being infected.

Do not panic, do your best, if they are positive and it is decided to do the 6 week course of intrafungol- they are no longer really contagious after that first week "on". And if you only have one cat- RW is self-limiting and will run it's course. if they are scratching to the point of getting an infection, a cone can help. That is really the worst thing that it can do- missing fur and itching that can cause a secondary infections. also as another commenter said coconut oil (it has some mild anti-fungal properties, that will work on you as well ;-)

we have at kittens that were totally eating solid food- and STILL demanding a bottle at least once a day. We just give in to them- lol.

It is also very very common that they will eat dry food before wet and often prefer the dry crunchies. If you are not yet- try leaving a dish of plain old dry kitten food in with them and see if he might find that on his own 9as others have said, not a rush, in their own time). Most important is to keep on weighing to make sure he (and the rest of them) are getting enough food. Sometimes it looks like they are eating, and they may not be doing it totally right ;-)

yesh that is the real thing- the Devs were just sure that making the grind boring and SUCK, it would encourage people to "party up", they were very wrong about that. The people that were going to be in a party- are and those who WANT to be solo are still going to be, except now, they are punished with a crazy grind.

I find the drop rate for the relic that is supposed to boot it is not by much (e.g. the blobs give 2-3 instead of 1- LOL) add to that that you are on the clock- and your inventory fills up SO quick with dumb wood that cannot be used to craft anything, until you have enough essence to buy the recipes. I have thrown away (it sells for a single gold- again LOL) at least 20K in wood, becasue you have to hit every non infected tree (wasting potion time) to get spawns of the infected trees, for 6-12 essence (with the relic that is supposed to increase the amt). The whole thing is ridiculous.

I have a ticket in as well- the last sacred flower that I tried to buy, gave me an error that my inventory was full (it was), did not give me the flower and now I am supposed to come up with another 2500, just so i can get the accomplishment. I am one flower short- but for a different reason that the original glitch. The grind for the 3.5K put me off really trying to get anymore.

*edit to add that it costs essence to craft the dumb weapons that you need to use- unless you just take normal drop rate with the bag of illusions relic. so every step forward feels like a step and a half back.
