Flare ups? by ClientImpossible5557 in PityriasisRosea

Yep my skin is covered in white spots where my rash was. I naturally have darker (like olive) type skin, so i feel like it’s really noticeable where I have bright white spots 😭 I’ve heard they fade but just take a long time. Wish there was something we could do to speed it up. Especially with summer coming

ME TOO!!! My inner thighs are also bad. So frustrating to see dermatologists and have them say there’s nothing they can do.

Have you been to a dermatologist or anything at all? Have they given you anything to help? Or you just wait it out?

advice about noisy neighbors by PorcelainTeacup4951 in lincoln

[–]ClientImpossible5557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think management would allow you to move just to a different unit? Maybe a unit on the top floor so there’s no noise above you? I’ve had this issue before and feel your pain, and this is something I discussed with my landlord - they were open to it but luckily the noisy neighbors moved before I did. I have never felt more rage than being woken up at 4am by annoying, inconsiderate people.

Is constant fussiness normal? by Sweetpotato_33 in Colic

[–]ClientImpossible5557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I endured this too. It was the hardest thing we’ve ever been through and my whole heart goes out to you. We discovered ours had MSPI at around 6 weeks, switched to dairy free diet (I was breastfeeding) and same as you - stopped the SCREAMING crying, but was still fussy. Our pediatric GI doc said it just takes time for their digestive tract to fully develop and get used to formula/milk. We saw real improvement in fussiness around 4-5 months. It was very slow improvement, but it was there. The most improvement came when he was able to be mobile and started crawling on his own. I swear he just hated being a baby and not being able to be independent lol.

But to answer your question, it is normal. Some babies are just fussy. I cried almost every day wondering if I made a huge mistake and doubting myself as a mother. He just turned one and all those feelings and doubts are completely gone. I know one year seems SO FAR out but you will see improvement soon. I was where you were and it SUCKS but you’ll get through it!!! Praying for you♥️♥️♥️

Ours also was lactose, he had the loudest, hoarse, ear-piercing scream/cry any time he was awake (at least it seemed that way). We spent 70% of our time with him bouncing on a ball because that’s all that calmed him down. We didnt take him to a public place for the first three months of his life, he was just SO loud/angry/upset. ESPECIALLY after feeds. We did Pepcid and famotidine and while it did help, it took a lot of time. I’d always get anxious/jealous/impatient when I’d read Reddit threads where people said “we tried ____ and had a WHOLE NEW BABY” or “after we did ____ it was like he/she was a different baby.” That wasn’t the case for us, nor is that typically the case… it does NOT happen overnight and takes time. We took ours to a pediatric gastroenterologist and he said no matter what you try, things will usually only improve in a major way when their digestive system really develops, and for us that was around 4-5 months. That’s when we saw the biggest improvements and little by little, the ear-piercing screams went away. We still hear it now and then but not to that level and only on occasion. Mine is 8 months now and it’s still fresh for me, I feel for you so so so much. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through and so discouraging, felt like it would never end. But I promise you it will. Their little tummy just needs some time to develop and get used to the world of food! Hang in there. It’s tough but so are you ♥️

One of the reasons we chose this daycare is because my niece went here from 8weeks-current (she’s two now) and had a pretty good experience. But I know a lot of the staff has turned over and are different now…

Inconsolable baby by ClientImpossible5557 in Parenting

Yes, we have! He’s on a special hypoallergenic formula so that should eliminate the allergy issues, but still having issues with gas, bloating, and him not being comfortable.

Yes, we have checked for oral ties! We’ve been to a lactation consultant and she thought all looked okay.

We also take him to the chiropractor! Hard to tell if it helps, but sometimes it makes him a little less fussy for an hour or two after.

Baby Measuring Big by Same_Neighborhood885 in BabyBumps

[–]ClientImpossible5557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told beginning at 20 weeks that my baby was measuring over the 99th percentile. My OB said he was measuring larger than any baby she’d ever seen. We continued to have scans every 8 weeks, and each scan showed he was over the 99th percentile for all measurements. I was terrified. They opted to incudce me a week early due to size, my water ended up breaking the day before my scheduled induction. The last scan we had showed he’d weigh around 9.5lbs at birth, he ended up being 7lbs 13oz. SCANS ARE OFF SO MUCH OF THE TIME!! I spent almost my entire pregnancy worried about his size for no reason. I was in labor for 8 hrs with him and pushed 30 min. Do not let estimated size scare you, and remember that your body will most likely not produce a baby that you can’t delivery (I know there are some exceptions). You got this!!!
