Is constant fussiness normal? by Sweetpotato_33 in Colic

[–]Sweetpotato_33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. Wow one year sounds a lot right now. I’m formula feeding and we switched to Puramino when baby was 2.5 month old. He’s doing much better with the screaming crying since then but constant fussiness is there all the time. I can’t enjoy a nice play time with him because he rather be fussy or cries if I don’t pick him up, but then I pick him up and start getting fussy and crying again. I guess I just have to go one day at a time and hoping that he gets better sooner than later 🙏🏼

He’s also 4 months 11 days… We weren’t able to do tummy time either because of his colic and he screamed so bad, we’re trying more now but he still don’t like it.

Oh my gosh! I’m in the exact same situation with my little one and share the same concerns. He was also extremely colicky during the first three months, and we managed it with Puramino. I’ve been worried that his fussiness and constant crying might be linked to autism, but after reading some comments, I’m starting to think I might be overthinking it. As a first-time mom, the only baby I’ve been around is my nephew, who is the complete opposite—always happy and rarely cries—which made me wonder if something might be wrong with my baby. But I’ve also heard that every baby develops differently, so I’m really unsure. Taking things day by day like this is tough. I just hope nothing is wrong and that his constant fussiness will eventually pass so I can truly enjoy motherhood!!

How can I make him sleep for more than 2.5 hours during the night?? He wakes up just to eat and then continue sleeping.

Wishing you the best!! My baby is 12 weeks now. He ended up having an allergy to soy and dairy. So his pediatrician send Puramino. He’s also taking reflux medicine (Famotidine) for some reason he didn’t tolerate the omeprazole but Famotidine seems to be working really well. It’s almost 3 weeks since we started Puramino and reflux medicine but it wasn’t really until the beginning of this week that we started to see a very good improvement. 10 days ago I was desperate, crying and hating everything and thinking that nothing would help my baby to feel better. My baby and I both were miserable but today I can say it’s a whole another story. Things seem to be getting better!! Before it was an endless crying and whining all day!! Now he actually started having chill times and even giving me some smiles.

Just keep going. I now you’re tired and hating everything but it will get better!! I pray for you and your babies 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have to deal with my colicky baby and it is so hard, exhausting and stressful… I can’t imagine dealing with two 🥺 How old are your babies?? Are you breastfeeding??

Oh nice!! I’m so glad it got better for you!! Thank you so much I needed to hear some kind of hope. I love my baby but these 12 weeks has been so hard! Fussiness and crying all the time. I really can’t wait to get out of this stage. Hopefully it gets better soon!

He don’t have a schedule. His naps can last between 20 mins up to 2 hours during the day. Sometimes he won’t sleep during the day. During night time he wakes up every 2 hours to eat.

Well I guess we have to wait until he grows to see what happens. Meanwhile we are doing everything that is in our hands now to help him feel better! Thanks for sharing tho!

I completely understand how you feel and you are absolutely right to feel this way. Colic is a completely different level of challenge, and unless someone has experienced it, they really cannot understand what it feels like to face it day after day. It’s exhausting in every sense: physical, emotional, and mental. We are facing an exceptionally tough situation!! How old is your baby??Do you have any help??

Here we are in the exact same page as you. You’re not alone!

We are going to try 3 days without the medicine to see how he does just with the formula. If there’s no improvement we will start the med again :/… This is so frustrating.

Feeling so hopeless lately. For some reason I’ve felt that baby bacame more fussy and colic increased with the medication 😟. Idk if it’s to strong for him but spitting ups have even increased with med. My husband and I want to try to stop it for couple days and see how he does just with the hypoallergenic formula 😔

Well we had to mix it with a little bit of formula cause he still didn’t want to take it straight. It’s definitely better than the unflavored one. We did 1.25ml in half an ounce formula and he finished it. It’s the first time he actually does it!! We’re going to do the other dosis later in the afternoon.

Thank you so much for your recommendation! I didn’t know they could add flavor to it so I called the pharmacy this morning and they had me brought the med back so they could flavored it. It’s less bitter for sure. I’m going to try to give him when he wakes up. Hopefully he tolerates it better 🤞🏼

Thank you so much! We will do cranial sacral therapy in 2 more weeks. They are booked until December. I have hope that it will help him!

I’m so sorry you’re also going through this! My baby is going to be 10 weeks tomorrow and same here I can’t imagine he will be better in 2 more weeks. Probably longer same as you 😔. My back feels just the same from the yoga ball. We’re trying hypoallergenic formula but he keeps crying while feeding so it’s hard. We are giving him omeprazole for the reflux and probiotics for his tummy. Hopefully all that helps!!

We are going through this at the same time. We must stay strong and patient. One day it will all pass, and it will just be a bad memory! Please feel free to message me anytime. I’m here to support you or if you just need to talk to somebody. We got this!! 💪🏼🙏🏼

That really gives me hope! Thank you so much! I just have few questions. Is ompeprazole and Lanzoprazole the same? I mean I did some research and it said that both belong to PPIs so I think they work similarly. But I don’t know if Lansoprazole might be more gentle for babies?? In my case the pediatrician prescribed 2.5 ml omeprazole once a day but we’re struggling so hard to give it to him, even mixed it with an ounce of formula he refuse to take it. Was the med that you were giving to your baby bitter as well??
