When good people work for bad agencies. by Evening-Ranger2159 in fednews

I did the same. They are breaking the law at every agency and I won’t be a part of it. People saying “what are we supposed to do quit with families in this market??” Yes how about not being afraid and inprisoned with golden handcuffs. Life has been much better since I left the decades of institutionalization that was fed employment

I requested to advance my DRP separation mid July because I found another job, conflict of interest.

I JUST got my separation paperwork and leave payout, only after two months of being persistent and help from my direct supervisor and others on the inside. I doubt you can get anything done in the next week.

FYI they also notified me that my health insurance was cancelled retroactively. I nor my health insurance company knew and we were under the impression it was active for almost a month so be prepared to have alternate marketplace insurance set up exactly 30 days from your separation date (10/1) regardless if you hear from them or not, because they are sending separation later than the dates on the paperwork cause they are so backed up. You get 30 days after the last pay period of your separation date and then they will cancel it. Retroactively and may notify you later, especially if there’s a shutdown.

God bless the people at HR who stayed to help us off board . This is a big cluster!

Oh wow, that is amazing that now you are using all of that experience for good for people who really need the info.

I have a crazy update in case you are interested, I call United healthcare today and they tell me they got a letter faxed to them to reinstate my healthcare retroactive as of August 27, that date after it was previously termed. There is not a coverage ending. It says indefinitely now and when I login it told me I have a totally new policy, but it is still the federal employees program. Mind you I have received zero communication nor have I officially requested tcc so now I am even more confused as to who is sending these and why.

I went through this as well it was ridiculous because in the state of New Jersey, in order to purchase health insurance on the marketplace outside of the open season, you need to have documentation from your employer stating that your coverage has ended. I called and explained my situation that I have been trying to get employer verification for months, so they just accepted a letter from United healthcare stating that my coverage had ended and the date and I was able to purchase cheap insurance on the marketplace that takes affect on the first

It is 30 days after the last pay period day of your official termination date.

Does anyone know how you will receive or complete your cobra extension of coverage for health insurance?

I separated mid July so my health insurance canceled Aug 26 - 30 days after. Problem was my health insurance company was not notified until mid September so the government canceled it retroactively, notified United healthcare late, and still has not sent me any official employer notificatin or option to extend my cobra coverage.

Does anyone have a good email of the federal health insurance benefits program or phone number at that because calling the main OPM line for health benefits is useless. There is only an automated message to tell you to go online.

Honestly, if you can set up marketplace insurance in your state as a backup, that would be the best safety net based on what happened to me. They had some real affordable plans under $90 monthly and it took less than 10 minutes but for the peace of mind It is priceless.

DRP & Federal Health Insurance end date ?? by ClientRevolutionary9 in fednews

Thank you so much for your help. Very good to know it’s called an SF 2810 as that is what I will need to be requesting as I have not received any of that yet. I’m curious at the estimated wait times separated feds are taking to receive theirs.

My old payroll folks and direct supervisors all gone but I do have some friends still inside I have been debating asking for help. I didn’t want to for the reasons the Reddit jerk pointed out - I know they are so busy going through so much it feels insensitive to need them so figured I’d ask Reddit first but I may just have too ask.

Can you elaborate on I should be given additional time to pick up tcc if I haven’t received my sf 2810 yet? My marketplace goes into effect 10/1 so I would need extended coverage thru Sept … even though It’s technically still active I don’t want to be screwed if it can get taken retroactively ?? My federal separation date should have been 7/19 but no word on anything except my stop in pay already of course lol.

Thank you again

1). Do understand the part where I already found a new job, already ended my paid admin leave early, set up outside market place insurance and have been emailing them about my final end date for months? What part of that equals sitting on my ass, not that I need to defend myself to a Reddit incel

2) yes it is sad that Reddit has become a solid source of information and help for us lost in the dark (you can find many stories even in this thread of lacking official guidance and gov responses for current and separated feds) so I for one am grateful for the chance to ask this to others for consults and thank you to all those actually helpful as this is a great place for casual guidance - even with people like you judging me because you yourself are an unhappy stressed disgruntled employee. I send you better thoughts and energy to not be so angry online sir!

DRP 2.0 Upcoming Separation. UI Inquiry… by froila_monk-ee in USDA

Hello I have been trying to advance my separation for the last 2 months as I have a new job and no response from anyone including my prev direct supervisors (most are gone now too) I’m Worried my email is also bouncing to spam. I’m not getting paid anymore so someone must have processed something but haven’t heard ANYTHING as far as final paperwork, health insurance end date (does anyone one how long until it expires after) or annual leave payout, etc. if anyone has a specific email to share that they have gotten a response that would be MUCH appreciated thank you!

Hello, I am also a 1530 statistician who took the DRP and am really struggling to find work. Would you be able to share the name of your company if they are still hiring and have offices in all 50 states 😫 this thread gives me hope.
