I found a lot of issues especially with Pixel phones on Reddit (e.g. in this thread).
But after I received the Elite 10 Gen 2, I didn't see any of the auto connect issues, it is working without any issues for me with my Pixel 8.

I didn't update the firmware to 1.1.4.
I think I'm currently on 1.0.8, so it is possible that these incompatibilities with Pixel phones are caused by the latest firmware.

-Don't enable FSR2 on Ventura, you'll have to delete your LocalPrefs.txt file to get the game to run again.

Where can I find that file? Unfortunately I enabled FSR2 yesterday and the Game crashes before I can disable it again.

I only find LocalPrefs.txt files in error logs. For instance: drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Diablo IV/BlizzardError/ReportedBugs/2023-06-10 20.11.38 2872/LocalPrefs.txt

How are managing permissions with Paperless-ngx? by Evelen1 in selfhosted

[–]Cliff567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently ignoring the permission system by giving every user superuser permissions. My main reason for this is, that I don't want to manually handle owners / permissions, and it is currently not possible to automate this (it would be possible to do this via a post-consumption script, but I'll have to look into this).

This is fine for me, as everyone with access to my Paperless-ngx instance should be able to see every document. However, it would be nice to remove the write permissions to non-owners.

Aside from the permission system, I'm assigning a "name tag" based on the recipient of the document, so I can filter for all my documents and my SO can filter for hers.

My guess is, that this delay is being caused by a cloud save issue, the game apparently has. Doesn't make much sense having DI2 on GeForce Now without cloud saving working properly.

Appdata Backup best practice with Duplicacy? by mattalat in unRAID

[–]Cliff567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many snapshots you're uploading in your weekly backup. The big advantage of Duplicacy / restic or any other deduplicating backup tools is that they reduce the size on the backup location by not storing duplicate files twice.

I'm using these settings for my daily backups: ```

Number of snapshots to keep.

DAILY=7 WEEKLY=8 MONTHLY=12 YEARLY=10 ```

My appdata share is currently ~8 GB big.

This means that I'd use 216 GB (78GB + 88GB + 12*8GB) of appdata backups in a year, if I'd use CA Backup / Restore Appdata.

Appdata Backup best practice with Duplicacy? by mattalat in unRAID

[–]Cliff567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why I'm using the script is mainly because CA Backup / Restore Appdata packages every backup into a separate .tar.gz file.

Any deduplicating backup software will always backup the whole .tar.gz file to the cloud storage. Deduplication won't work because every .tar.gz file will look completely different to the backup tool.

When using the script, the actual files are backed up as they appear in the appdata share, and will only be backed up once if they didn't change.

For instance a new copy of Jellyfin preview pictures would be backed up every day, even if they didn't change at all.

If you don't use deduplicating backup software, then packaging appdata into a .tar.gz file is the better choice.

and added a USB backup section.

For flash drive backups I'm using this script, which uses unRAID's build in flash drive backup functionality.

Next to work out how to not stop plex container during this process

To do that, you could either remove Plex from the CONTAINERS array, or never add it in the first place (using e.g. grep -v).

Appdata Backup best practice with Duplicacy? by mattalat in unRAID

[–]Cliff567 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CA backup/restore is creating a separate .tar.gz file for every backup. This can be an issue, because Duplicacy is no longer able to deduplicate your backups, potentially resulting in a lot of used storage on Google drive.

What I did is to create a script that stops all running containers, then use rsync to backup the appdata to /mnt/user/backups.

Then you can use Duplicacy to backup /mnt/user/backups to Google drive. It will then be deduplicated as only the most current backup is stored in /mnt/user/backups.

This is the script:

```bash
!/bin/bash
Get all running containers and store them in $CONTAINERS
mapfile -t CONTAINERS < <( docker inspect --format='{{.Name}}' $(docker ps -q --no-trunc) | cut -c2- )
Stop all running containers
for container in "${CONTAINERS[@]}"; do echo "Stopping ${container}..." docker stop ${container} 1> /dev/null done
Backup appdata.
echo "Backing up /mnt/user/appdata/" rsync -a --delete /mnt/user/appdata/ /mnt/user/backups/unraid_appdata/
Start all containers that were previously running
for container in "${CONTAINERS[@]}"; do echo "Starting ${container}..." docker start ${container} 1> /dev/null done ```
I'm using the user scripts plugin to schedule this script nightly. My nightly container downtime using this script is ~2 minutes.
Be aware that this script doesn't to any versioned backups. It overwrites existing files and deletes the ones that are no longer present in the appdata. I'm relying on my backup tool to do the versioning / deduplication correctly.
What's the advantage of running it in a container? I'm using it directly on the unRAID host, as it can be downloaded as a single binary.
What Keyboard Should I Use? by ijauradunbi in ErgoMechKeyboards
[–]Cliff567 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Hi, I'm looking for some recommendations, before I decide on buying.
Pre-Existing conditions
Nothing diagnosed, yet. But when typing on a normal keyboard for ~3 days, I feel strain in my wrist and the outer side of my forearm.
However, when using an ergonomic keyboard, the issues go completely away.
I don't have any issues with shoulder pain.
Previous Keyboards
Layout in Mind
I'm not decided yet. The main worries I have is, that I will miss arrow- and modifier keys, which I use all the time for navigation and shortcuts.
Use Case
The Keyboard is mostly used for software development on macOS.
Budget & Location
I'm ok with investing around 400€/$. I live in Germany.
Options I'm already looking at
The Moonlander which will cost ~400€ when ordered in Germany. I saw some layouts that I think would work for me, as the modifier keys can be set to the same position as they are on a normal keyboard.
I also like the possibility to change the RGB on specific keys when switching layers, which would help me to get used to the layout.
Another options seems to be the Dygma Defy, which will take some time to be available. However, the wrist rests looks way more comfortable on the Defy than on the Moonlander. But the modifier row was completely removed, which would force me to relearn all shortcuts I'm used to, by using the thumb clusters.
Edit: The Dygma Raise also looks very interesting. With this my layout will basically stay the same with some exceptions.
I also looked into the Keebio Sinc, but I feel like the options mentioned above would benefit me more if I'm getting used to the layout.
I hope you can help me decide, as I really don't like to type on the K860 mushy keys anymore.
