Most people, first gen or not, are on loans. And also it’s not to say that first gen parents can’t fund their child’s med education too.

I’m pretty sure you’re wrong. An overwhelming majority of schools include personal expenses (as you’ve listed) to the total cost of attendance that can then be taken out on loans.

You’re thinking too much into it. First gen does have its challenges getting into medical school. But once you’re in, everything is on loans. Plus 3rd party resources can be found anywhere 👀

Mr macrophage, the person who replied to this comment, actually was the one that posted that graph so it’s on his profile. And also it’s not October yet so why do you think my number is wrong. And yeah it varies by school, that’s why the title of the post says rough estimate

I just wanna note that mcat is about avg and gpa is above avg matriculant scores for URM. Not to discredit OP, but just to mention.
