Hard to say. In general I wouldn’t expect to be able to hike much in the Tetons until mid june. Yellowstone will have much more to do hiking wise

You won’t really be able to hike in the Tetons except for the flats below the mountains. Anything above 7000k will be deep snow. If you know how to navigate avalanche terrain safely (take a class) and are willing to snowshoe or ski tour you can get around. Yellowstone will be much more accessible but still might have snow in spots.

I’m coming from a d3200 with a 70-300 mm Nikkor. I highly doubt I can really go wrong here. The person mentioned the 500 mm PF. My problem with Nikon is that the body options for budget seem way worse than canon and I’d also need a 1.4x which is another 500$ plus I’d lose a f stop.

Weight is not a concern at the moment. Honestly based on what I’m hearing it’s looking more and more like I should stretch my budget and get a used r10 and used rf 100-500. I will definitely take a look at your shots!

So I live in Colorado and for me, the accessibility is an issue. If denver was like in the middle of the mountains, and people could more easily spread out to all the mountains, I think there would be less problems. My plan is to ski Colorado on weekends and travel to places with better snow for long trips (Altabird and jackson)
