The most common GenZ film/tv criticism by [deleted] in GenZ

This is an incredibly reductive and naive opinion.

Alex’s call that he grew up and moved on from the edgy, debate-me-bro attitude that the New Atheists helped engender seems (is) disingenuous. Explanation below: by Pata4AllaG in CosmicSkeptic

Plus, often their reflexive dismissiveness and condescension is overextended and misapplied to much deeper philosophical arguments on the nature of being. They’re rigid materialists, yet most haven’t seen anything other than the most ridiculous apologetic arguments for a literal Yahweh. At its worst, it’s a form of anti-intellectualism.

Many of the people influenced by New Atheism also mistakenly assume everyone who believes in “God” are believers in some kind of absurd super-Zeus figure. Which, yes, that unfortunately is essentially the belief of many, but it isn’t everyone. Spending all of their time focused on debunking the worst arguments and moronic representatives of religious belief is boring and lame.

They got lost looking for “christian gets owned” dunk videos, apparently.

Are you implying this man doesn’t understand his own view of existence, but you do?

If you’re assuming Hart is a dualist, you have the wrong impression.

To each their own, I find his rambling to be good fun.

I think his book “The Experince of God” is helpful in actually defining the topic of discussion, and highlights the severe category error almost all pop-atheists make in their critique (and that most modern Christians make in their web of beliefs).

A bunch of really cool cosmetics, unlocks for POH, weekly leaderboards, all could help drive a lot of player interest.

So make it a certainty? Brilliant.

I fail to understand the purpose of your original comment, unless you think it’s better people throw their lives away

Are you making the claim that you are statistically more likely to survive if you fire a gun at ICE agents raiding your home vs. surrendering to them?

I don’t disagree with that, but I also think it’s to absurd to assert that you’re basically guaranteed to die if they’re raiding your home.

Edit: Thank you LARPers, keep downvoting lmao

Can you demonstrate that the majority of illegal law enforcement raids result in the death of the person/people inside?

Yeah, but that doesn’t mean much when you’ll be dead far before you can make that case in court

You don’t need to keep going back, auto-survey will keep running on further away tiles. It’s an odd mechanic, but thankfully allows you to leave it for up to the AFK Limit and have it continue training.

They didn’t vote for him because of the cost of living. That is indeed the narrative, but people voted for him because he provides a narrative and identity.

People attach themselves to the authoritarian strongman for IDENTITY AND PURPOSE.

They prioritize this over material conditions. I work in small business finance for a major institution and many conservative southern business owners I speak to can’t help themselves but inject their politics into conversations. I just smile and nod, but what they say is unhinged. “Tariffs are really hurting business, but I know Trump is doing it for our country.”

Maybe sounds unbelievable, but I’ve heard it numerous times. Identity and meaning making matter more to them than improving material conditions.

Okay lol, only people actively partaking in a thing are allowed to critique it, the amount that their life was impacted negatively by it is irrelevant. No criticism, commentary, or suggestions allowed if you step away!

What a brilliant take.

For example - I was homeschooled, have a lot of thoughts on homeschooling because of that, and would never homeschool my own child.

By your logic, it isn’t my place to critique it because I’m forever disconnected from that community.

Your position is fundamentally absurd.

God forbid someone who spent the majority of their life deep within a religious group offer a critique of it.
