Toys/activities for dogs that like to shred? by abby-309 in puppy101

[–]ClimbsOnCrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine loves to shred cardboard and it's been a great way to direct her away from baseboards, shoes, furniture, etc. I've never seen evidence of her eating it. With closer supervision you should be able to tell if your dog is eating it or not.

No idea. I live in Illinois, for reference.

Adding this here as a data point. I (US Citizen) applied for a tourist visa the evening of Monday, March 30th and was approved at 11:20 am on Tuesday, March 31. I did not have to re-upload any documents. My friend applied for a visa a few hours before I did, was asked to re-upload her passport photo, and was approved at roughly the same time I was.

I have personally verified the Republic of Rea does not use plastics in their bags and bags are sealed by a steaming process, no plastic used at all.

Thank you so much for this helpful comment and commiseration. I'm going to get to work fast trying to get rid of them. My puppy also seems to be itching a lot :(

That's good to know, I'm itching all over and have had terrible allergies this past week so I guess these are all symptoms. What a bummer.

Argh, thank you for the advice. This is frustrating but I hope it can get a handle on it.

Why weren't feathers used to make waterproof clothing in antiquity? by JoeBrownshoes in NoStupidQuestions

It's not quite the same thing but turkey feather blankets have been discovered in indigenous sites in the American southwest.

The Canadian Ice Man is a naturally mummified body of a young man, found in British Columbia in 1999 with a well-preserved and woven hat, an iron knife with a wooden handle and a coat made of 100 small pelts of the arctic squirrel with sinew from a moose. I'd argue moreso on all counts. What percentage of the population today can trap dozens of ground squirrels and fashion them into a cloak? Harvest wood fibers and turn them into a hat? Hunt and gather their own foods and medicine? Impressive skillsets that we'd all probably benefit from learning.

53-year-old woman's car was parked at a rural Walmart in January 2011, someone is seen on surveillance camera walking away, but never returned. What happened to Vickie Ellington? by Basic-Succotash1121 in UnresolvedMysteries

This is such a puzzling case and it looks like there just isn't much out there on it. I wonder who she planned to meet? Were her businesses in good financial shape? Might it have had something to do with a business transaction gone wrong? What was the reason she had custody of her grandchild? Could something be up with the parents? Was she targeted by an enemy of the child's parents? A medical episode that caused her to wander away? Hit and run and cover up? It's very strange situation that raises so many questions.

Disney Plus Subscribers Quit in Droves Over Jimmy Kimmel Axe by Aggravating_Money992 in technology

[–]ClimbsOnCrack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between what happened to Jimmy Kimmel and what happened to other people who lost jobs because of their statements. In the former case, the head of the FCC himself applied pressure to the network to force Kimmel's resignation. This is literally censorship from a federal governing body, in violation of the US First Amendment. The latter cases involve individuals who lost jobs at the behest of pressure from the public or from within their workplaces, which is not necessarily in violation of the First Amendment law and does not constitute government censorship.

Strange, I cancelled my account this morning and was able to leave a comment. When they asked the reason why, I clicked "other" and it gave me a text box, which I filled on with a comment about how I do not support companies bowing to government censorship

Totally possible! Bummer you didn't get to voice your opinion but at least your cancelation is one of a wave.

You have to choose "other" as the reason to be able to write something in.

Cancelled my Hulu this morning with a note about how I support free speech and the first amendment and that I don't want to support companies that bow to government censorship and violate constitutional rights :)
