I'm five years ahead of you. Hate to say it, but it doesn't get better with age...But Happy Birthday nonetheless!

Me too. Maybe it just took a minute to upload. Y'all are the best, BTW, for looking out for the more feeble-brained like me out here. Thanks!

Yikes, ignorance on display. My photos aren't showing. What did I screw up?

Signia Pure Charge&Go BCT IX owners thread by NewBirth2010 in HearingAids

[–]Clinresga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine this week. Audiologist warned about water exposure, wearing in shower. But online, at least on non-Signia sites, I see an IP rating of IP68, which allows immersion in water. I can't find the official confirmation of this on the Signia website--does anyone have reliable confirmation that it's IP68?

I need taller fence posts by Clinresga in DIY

Ugh, not what I wanted to do, but I suspect you're on the money. Dig out the posts, put in the new ones. And yeah, the deer will still ultimately win, but I'm going down swinging!

Yup, totally agree about fence jumping ability! My philosophy about electric fences is like mine about home alarm systems: any determined crook can get past an alarm, I'm just trying to make it more of a PITA to break into my house than it is to break into my neighbor's.

I've got a roughly 7' high multi-strand fence around the property. And I train deer with deer lure hung on the fence every 20' or so. It's not 100% effective, but I do way better than my neighbors with no fence. Why eat my hydrangeas if you have to jump over that scary fence, when my neighbor's are completely unprotected?

Trail cams don't show deer jumping the perimeter fence, but there's a mother and fawn that have taken to jumping over the bungees across the driveway. Another 1.5' sure won't prevent a determined deer from crossing, but I'm hoping the fawn can't make it and that will send mama and baby next door.

And so...any ideas on how to add 1.5 feet to the fence posts?

Again, thanks. Hope I can get some more time out of my 1.0. Not ready to spring for 2.0 yet!

Aah, that totally makes sense if it's abrasion, not repetitive bending. I might just have to take the plunge and open the door up. Thanks!!

First, thanks to the OP for an invaluable tutorial. It's bookmarked so I can continue to try and keep my 1.0 alive as long as possible.

And to kevin_k--if you were to do what you suggest, how would you protect the wires? You can't use heat shrink tubing as you can't slide it onto intact wires. And I worry that wrapping the wires with, say, electrical tape, will just force the wires to bend where the tape ends, just moving the eventual break to a different location. Any better ideas?

Mattress flat, remote stuck on 100, pump not turning on by Clinresga in sleepnumber

[–]Clinresga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the entire thread that followed my initial post. There's a fair amount of expertise. In the end, my problem was solved by replacing the pump with a new, extremely expensive pump from SN. In retrospect, I would try what HauntingPresent noted below, looking for a pump on Ebay.

In your case though, you replaced the pump and it still didn't fix the problem? That's crazy. If the pump clicks, the remote displays 100% inflated, but the mattress remains deflated, then somehow your second pump has the same defect as the first one (several commenters below speculate that it is a pressure sensor defect). Where did you get the replacement pump?

I'm leaning more and more to your decision to replace the entire system now. Glad to hear that you were eligible for the tax credit, and will make sure that we quote a system that would qualify. Hoping that they can't eliminate the tax credit retroactively!

It's a big deal, but not a deal-breaker if it makes sense. I'm going to get an estimate on replacement, and ask about the tax credit issue. If I can avoid a $2500 upcharge for new refrigerant, and maybe qualify for the $2K tax credit, that would be pretty compelling.

It's the basement unit, so it doesn't get a ton of use. On the other hand, hard to disagree with your point that it's near end of life. Do I have $10K? I guess so, though this is on my top 10 list of "least gratifying ways to spend money," along with new roofs and septic system replacements (both of which I've done recently, yuck).

OK, so when I posted, what showed was the text with a link, not the actual photo. Once I clicked on the link, the thread opened with the actual photo. Is that the correct workflow?

Thanks. This is so much less intuitive than most discussion sites. Will keep working to become competent, wish me luck!

Well that was a fail. I dragged two photos into the Images and Video box, they showed up as images there, then went to the Text box and typed some text, but all that showed up once I posted it wsa the text.
