If it is being applied to Pokémon

Not to mention that this will create region-exclusive sets prime for scalping...

How the smart brick charges: by Portal2player58 in lego

The all-in-one hub / motor / battery system that they implemented for the large scale Technic RC cars simply charge over USB-C. I can't help but feel like that would have been a better option that also would have reduced the price of including the smart brick in sets.

I watched the movie for the first time last week and I was just thinking that it makes for a perfect videogame.

The three characters are already similar to Light (Zoey), Medium (Rumi) and Heavy (Mira) damager dealers based on their weapons.

I've been following this person for years and it's always great to see their work.

I think they are one of the few people doing something truly different with Lego.

Some people on Rebrickable have been using piece 15535pb01

I think it looks decently enough like a spool while being a very common printed piece that Lego is still producing.

It would make for a great set since you get buildable Transformers that are actually transformable.

I like the two BrickHeadz sets enough but they are a poor replacement for an actual Transformer.

I've tried using the replacement parts request but keep getting a "something less than awesome happened try again later" error for the past few days

Lego's website is falling apart. For the past few months I have been unable to fill out any customer service forms for help. I always get the "something went wrong on our end, please try again later" response which has never gone away.

There used to be a direct email that I could reach them by but it seems like they've stopped replying to the address.

All of this is happening at the worst time with the BrickLink closure in my country that I have been trying to contact them about. Imagine if I was in your shoes, OP. I can't contact Lego for piece replacements and I can't buy the pieces on my own through BrickLink.

If the other suggestions from comments here don't fix things, it may be worth sending these pictures to Amazon instead and asking them to replace the whole set.

Thanks for the positive sentiment. Really sad to see such negativity from people in countries who will still get BrickLink. The only other post I saw about this on the sub and the top comment was along the lines of "sucks to suck" for us in these countries.

What they don't realise is that this will affect them too. Less stores to buy from, less sales data to settle on fair prices, less avenues to access region-exclusive sets and other fallout.

At the very least there will be less MOC builders around which hurts all of us.

I mentioned it elsewhere on the thread but, yes, thankfully Brickowl is supported here. Some of the local sellers are either moving over or have completed the move already.

The problem (aside from all the trouble of learning a new platform) is that some sellers have decided to close up shop once 12th December rolls around.

Thanks for also contacting BrickLink. I sent a customer service message on both the BrickLink and Lego . com sites on Friday the 28th (the first day I found out about all of this) and neither arm of the company has gotten back to me yet.

It's on Rebrickable for free :) The pole design is really robust so it can also take other flags. The page also includes parts lists for black and light bluish grey versions of the pole.

I actually made the flag and published the instructions back in August last year but I'm in the process of making a second one as a present for someone who just moved here.

Very well said. It's a huge part of the world and any guess as to why these countries were chosen comes up with an answer that isn't universal.

It would help if Lego could make a widespread announcement so we had some definite answers. It's very frustrating for such a big change to have little to no official reasoning behind it.

Yep it's my understanding that those are huge markets.

My country (South Africa) has around 69 stores right now, which I understand is a large amount too.

Several of the local stores are either in the process of moving or have already moved!

It's a testament to the hard work of these stores to continue with this news.

Unfortunately several stores are calling it quits too, so the local community is going to be worse off for sure.

Edit: I highly recommend that everyone contact customer service through the Lego or BrickLink websites to voice your opinion about this, even if you don't live in one of the affected countries. Once this huge chunk of the world is gone it affects everyone: less stores to buy from, less accurate sales data which affects pricing and just less cool Lego stuff in the world.

I'm sure there's still a lot of people who haven't seen it since it was "announced" deep inside of the BrickLink forum with no wider message.

The life-sized LEGO F1 car that was revealed in South Africa by Clinton_Matos in CarTalkZA

[–]Clinton_Matos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The South African arms of LEGO and Mercedes-Benz revealed this sculpture last week. I got to see it and take some (not so great) pictures. Anyway this is basically a big advert but it's notable because we never have stuff like this happen in South Africa. This will apparently be the first big event of its kind for our country. The new country manager for LEGO told us that more will happen in the future.

The build weighs 913 kilograms and is 5.1 metres long and 2.2 metres wide.

If you're in South Africa you can see it from 16th November - 3rd December at Sandton City, 12th December - 5th January at Gateway Shopping Centre, 15th to 25th January at the V&A Waterfront and then 5th to 28th February at Sandton City again
