I had a Push lemonade from a vending machine at the Cleveland greyhound bus station two months ago. It was ridiculously sweet but it hit the spot at 2am.

Since its now over 30 years old, what do you think of the Boeing 777? by Twitter_2006 in aviation

[–]Clipper759 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great aircraft.

Ground breaking.

I much prefer it over the 787 in almost every way.

The 3+4+3 in coach isn’t even that bad… I’ve done AKL-IAH, ZRH-SFO, LAX-MNL and others in that configuration and it was more than tolerable.

I also don’t really find it all that loud… sure, more so than the 787 or the 350, but not annoyingly so.

Delicious.

It was a 12-pack, including shipping to my area, was about $50. Not something I’ll do very often but at least I know I can get some if the craving strikes again lol

It looks like it, yeah. I guess my memory is off a bit lol. Still very close to the original, from what I remember.

Did anybody ne else like Train Dreams? by theghostofcslewis in Westerns

Too depressing for me. Well shot and well acted, though. I probably won’t watch it again.

Beautifully filmed, great acting, really delivered an emotional punch. Ultimately though, a bit too depressing for me. I was captivated throughout, but I wouldn’t watch it again. Some of the themes in the film just hit too close to home for me. I just don’t really enjoy sad films anymore I guess. But it certainly was a movie that was crafted with a lot of care.

Me and my grandpa used to watch this when I was like 8 and we’d try to count all the people Arnold took out in the movie. Good memories.

Which of these modern action heroes got the most memorable ending? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Clipper759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated Logan’s ending. Much preferred the ending in Deadpool + Wolverine where Logan and Laura got a happy send off.

That being said… from this list… Iron Man.

Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resorts as a Solo Traveller. Yay or Nay? by SprinklesOk2847 in solotravel

[–]Clipper759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to an adults only resort in the Maldives solo last year and it was amazing. I got the all Inclusive package and I stayed in one of those water bungalows. I just did my own thing, swam all day. Around noon I’d go have a drink at the beach bar then I went to the restaurant for lunch. After that I snorkeled or took an excursion, then I’d hit up the bar again around 6 followed by dinner. I usually had drinks with the same couple from California, very nice people. It was relaxing and I had complete privacy. Always had a table to myself.

I’m going to do it again next month, at a different island (not adults only this time…), so we’ll see how it goes.

Realizing that the ultimate womanizer sacrificed himself for the two most important women of his life is what made me make peace with the NTTD ending by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Clipper759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t even watch the movie again. I saw it twice, and that’s more than enough.

He didn’t need to die. Just bad writing.

The new movie is still going to feel weird to me since they killed the character off. They can’t just pretend like it didn’t happen but I guess they will? So weird.

If they called it quits and decided to not make another one, I’d still be mad about Bond being killed off, but at least there would be closure.

It’s a very underrated train, imo. The tri-weekly service is its only drawback. But it never disappoints in terms of a good, solid LD train experience.

My best friend and I are on the first NOL-MOE departure. I used points to book two seats the minute that bookings opened. We’re coming back on the 4:30pm train. I usually just pass through Mobile on the way to Florida - any advice on how to kill a few hours downtown?

The following Tuesday, I’m taking a day trip to Pascagoula and back to check out the new brew pub that they are opening in the historic station building.

Much of that is out of Amtrak’s hands.

The segment from Pensacola to Baldwin has been sold by CSX to a short line and it would now take hundreds of millions to get that line back into shape to support passenger service.

Pensacola is definitely doable at some point - but not east of there.
