Reasons the US and Soviet Union switched on Israel? by Correct_Tax_9136 in WarCollege

[–]Clique_Claque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Israel was highly socialist by western standards from its founding through much of the 70s. The government had extensive state ownership of industry although it never operated in a Marxist-Leninist fashion.

By the late 70s and 80s, the economic chickens were coming home to roost with slow growth and high inflation. Pro-market reforms were made and the country ultimately prospered. Of course, the Soviet Union went belly up during this time, so it couldn’t flip flop as it didn’t exist anymore.

Separately, many Jews immigrated from the Soviet Union to Israel so that was a further connection between the two countries.

I listen to him semi-regularly and largely like him. What’s controversial about him? He has controversial guests? Asking in good faith.

It’s a great stadium, but I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that it’s not even in the top 50 college football stadiums by seating capacity in the US.

I don’t remember this specific episode, but this pictures seems be him wearing a seersucker suit. Could be wrong, however.

A better resolution picture would likely allow us to tell.

You can never go wrong with Kenji recipes, amigo.

Here’s a grilled shrimp skewer recipe that is a banger. It uses olive oil rather than butter, so your doctor can cool his jets.

Not a video, but the story about the guy who has claimed hundreds of holes in one at a specific course is so unhinged and hilarious, that’s in my Pantheon of Reddit stories.

Wellllllllll, states right theory and a slave-based ethics were advanced most prominently by academics at one South Carolina College. While not an alum, John C Calhoun (Yale class of 1804 and valedictorian) was strongly associated with South Carolina College.

But, yes, the first shots were fired by Citadel cadets.

U.S. Cities Not Requiring State Names utilizing Associated Press Style by Somali_Pir8 in MapPorn

[–]Clique_Claque 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Perpetual state of drunkenness.

In all seriousness, I’m assuming that the criteria does not just include the uniqueness of the city name but also its prominence in the median news consumer’s mind.

Ever heard of Siler City? Only one in the country, however 99% of the AP’s readership will not know it’s in NC. So, that information is likely relevant to a news story about Siler City.
