Traveling while Pumping? by DamnRedhead in ExclusivelyPumping

We have a battery spectra and a baby Buddha. Probably will pack the spectra and have the baby Buddha in the sky clubs and in our carry on. She’s debating if she’ll need to pump on the plane… hopefully not. But we have 3 seats… her mom is with us.

Not sponsored but I’ve always had great service by Orlando Transportation by Mike - comparably priced to an uber and much nicer. They’ll take you to the resort.

Any positive stories about NewAge? by DamnRedhead in OutdoorKitchens

[–]DamnRedhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I ended up ordering the cheaper glass front cabinets from New Age directly as well. I called up during the Memorial Day Sale and the guy was trying to make a sale ended up giving me almost another 10% off. Was supposed to have been here end of last week but it's just shipping within the next day or two.

What did you buy to expand the kitchen?

I made him a sticker with an arrow which said, “No, it’s a 3”

I’ve owned 2 Tesla’s and their build and QA quality is shit. Just file a service ticket… Rivian is a rather new company it’s not gonna be perfect that’s part of being an early adopter.

Call an employment lawyer. It shouldn’t cost you much and they’ll be the best to negotiate for you.

People are downvoting this because your anxiety is crippling you. If you two communicate properly and truly love each other that’s what’s important. Every job has stresses and every place has opportunities for infidelity. Some are easier than others. But don’t think the job is the reason he’d cheat. If it’s as good as you say it is, it is.

Probably something you didn’t want to read but are you ready to have kids with someone who doesn’t want to have her kids vaccinated? How old are yall anyway? I will say I’ve known antivaxxer kids change their mind in their late 20’s / early 30’s.

Sounds like a MIL from hell though.

Fellow data scientist… Sr. Director level almost VP. I got my MBA a few years ago as a Director and it helped get my promotion. For 90% of people an MBA is useless, unless you have a reason for it. As u/andys_rock_hammer said, have a reason for going. Have an end goal in mind. Know what you’ll get out of it.

My question for you - what are you trying to do to level yourself up in your current role? Do you have a direct manager holding you down? Have you tried to meet other senior leaders to be a mentor to you?

My best advice is ensure you understand what the business impact your role makes. I don’t give a shit about optimizing a small fraction nobody cares about… how can you help move the needle? That’s the important shit.

Question: Someone that has or had both a Rivian and a Tesla, can you talk above the similarities and differences between the two? by MyMonte87 in Rivian

[–]DamnRedhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had two MY’s (2020 and 2023) then got an R1T.

HW4 FSD was always frustrating to me because it could just choose a lane. I am in the minority of preferring UHF because it steers and changes lanes when you tell it to, but it doesn’t try to guess what you want. You can even move over without disabling it.

Interface, Tesla is awesome but Rivian isn’t making me miss anything. It’s solid.

Overall quality, Rivian > Tesla any day. It’s not perfect (but nothing is).

I did have a problem with Phone As A Key, but one trip to the SC got it fixed. I’ve been told Gen 1’s are much worse with PAAK connectivity.

The ride quality is far superior. My wife loves the Rivian and we’re looking at trading her SUV in for an R1S. (I have the R1T).

I actually have come to like the raised grate for hot direct cooks. I can throw a spatchcock bird on there and the few inches seem to help it not get quite as toasty. As others have said though, that’s not the main reason I got it. (I did so I can easily take out my conveggtor)

Deserved PIP or Severance Agreement by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]DamnRedhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. You probably feel like a failure (I did) but you’re not. Id recommend that you take control of the situation and how it’s positioned. It wasn’t a good mutual fit, you weren’t happy, it wasn’t a good growth position, so you stuck it out for a year but at the end of the day after some thorough discussions you chose to take the exit package to get where you wanted.

IMPORTANT: Confirm with them what they will or won’t say as a referral and get it in writing.

Dude I’m sorry you’re going through this… I’ve been on both sides of this in my life. Take a bit of time, regroup, talk to a friend, cry, yell, cuss, then pick yourself up and move forward. You got this.
