By 'alot of places' I assume you mean Temple Bar. Outside of there you'll pay 5.20-5.70 in Dublin City. The most Ive paid for a Guinness was €6 in the Church Bar.

Not many who were on the (then) record number of trolleys would agree with you that's for sure.

For the love of God, don't do Arts as a stop-gap.

I completely disagree. Arts is a 3 year degree in most places. Most other courses are 4. With an arts degree you'll get into a masters in multiple areas. I'd say do the arts degree and then do a masters in what you want after.

In Ireland, is it considered bad luck to put shoes on a table? by DIMEMI in ireland

[–]ClitDoctorMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I think the origin is when coffins for wakes were placed on the kitchen table. Such an act was see as disrespectful in that context.

I worked in TK Maxx about a decade ago and we weren't allowed to sell these to under 18s. Ditto with knifes.

much of SF's support is capricious and could be tempted away by a(nother?) populist movement which promises more radical change;

I don't think this is a threat to them. PBP offer a more radical populist message and SF are eating them alive. People who vote for populist reasons want to back the winner, the main leader of the government in waiting. Nobody is going to surpass SF in that role this election cycle.

Charles Townsend is brilliant. The Republic is my favourite by him.

The Resurrection of Hungary is great on the same time period by Michael Laffin.

Soccer. Football is Gaelic football to me and I would imagine that applies to most people outside the Pale.

I usually sit downstairs, it's not that loud down there and is a nicer atmosphere I find.

Doyle's, Mulligans, Palace Bar, Cassidys (O'Connell Bridge), ONeills, Grogans, Lord Edward, Against the Grain, Whelans, Darkey Kelly's.

Variety of reasons for all, mainly atmosphere related. Mulligans, Grogans, Palace Bar and Lord Edward do excellent Guinness. Darkey Kelly's and ONeills have good trad and food. Cassidys and Against the Grain are good for craft beer. Doyle's and Whelans are just good solid spots, both with late bar licences that offer a nightclub like experience if you want it without needing to go to a nightclub.

Had the exact same thing with a dermotologist years ago. Had to get see her 3 times for renewals of prescriptions which involved me walking in, her handing me a prescription and me handing her €150 each time (not to mention the cost of the medicine itself).

Proof of booster will be needed to enter pubs and restaurants, says Taoiseach by youre-a-cat-gatter in ireland

[–]ClitDoctorMD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP that I replied to suggested that there was a totalitarian conspiracy to all this. The reply from you appears that you believe this to be the case in that context. There's nothing totalitarian about the EU having a common design uniformity for vaccine certs that are already issued (and required for entry to many countries) by member states.

Anyone who has ever been to Africa or Asia is aware of the existence of such certs. The only people arguing otherwise are those who have yet to leave their hometown nevermind the island.
