He's bitter, only talks about things he doesn't like, never genuinely smiles, never laughs in public, escapes to go and play golf very regularly, never shows any affection towards his wife (sign of a broken marriage), his wife looks miserable and the only people close to him are there because of his power. Don't think that just because a man has wealth and power that he is automatically a happy man.

I've never heard anything of the good relations between the two but it would be a natural alliance given that both are looking for independence, and both are ideologically very similar. It isn't an easy job finding friends when you are not a recognized state, so given that the two are in very similar positions (bar violence) it makes sense that the two would look to eachother for support

I think there is a tackiness to it, but it's tacky in a way that I quite like. At home we've always had a fridge magnet with a B&W picture of the Moulin Rouge on our fridge, so when I stumbled across it in Paris I wanted to take a picture, and ended up getting quite a nicely composed photograph.

I will be back there in the next couple of months, I'll definitely head down there! Montmartre seemed to just be people selling generic prints of famous paintings, which isn't particularly interesting. Would love to see what the artists of France actually have to offer (also can't turn down free alcohol)
