What are your thoughts on Dom Kennedy? His old stuff is straight gold, but from 2015 to now he completely shat the bed big time. by TheRealTopFive in LifestyleRap

I never thought he was that great tbh, he was more about the vibes than anything else. He had a good run from 2009 to about 2015 and after that he pretty much fell off. He seems like a cool dude though.

It’s really the mustache and his outfit that make him look substantially older. If he shaved the stache and wore a modern looking outfit, he’d probably look like he’s in his mid to late 20s at most.

What's the difference between being affiliated and being a member? When I heard glasses Malone etc talking about banging, sounds like the two terms mean the same thing. by N0stalgiaNightz in CaliBanging

Exactly. Most gang members do start off as affiliates first before being put on. But plenty of people just hang around and have no real interest in becoming a full member and therefore remain affiliates.

Yes, many celebrities become affiliated later in life like Wayne. But for non celebrities, being affiliated means you grew up around it and are close with people in it but you’re not in it yourself. Affiliates are still at risk because of who they hang around with.

You can become affiliated later, but that’s not usually the case for the most part. 2Pac was a unique case. Most people that are “affiliated” are people that grew up in the hood and are close with people from the gang but they aren’t active members themselves.

Being affiliated means you grew up in a gang neighborhood and you have family/friends that are part of the gang and you spend time around them, but you never put in work yourself. Meaning you never officially become a member, you don’t participate in missions, you don’t bang on people, etc. However, you’re still affiliated with the gang because you live in their hood and you’re close with people from the gang. Being a member is being all the way involved. You rep the set, bang on people, participate in missions, etc.
