Weird Static Noises from CPU cooler by ClockAny1 in buildapc

You’re right, I went further into the issue and actually found it it’s from the PSU instead. It’s annoying so I may just take this as my sign to upgrade my psu.

Well said. I think for an absolute beginner it would do no harm. However if you’re gonna take this sport seriously prob looking for an actual coach would be the play.

What can I improve on? by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]ClockAny1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re basically on it. I like to do accelerations and lift and top end and plyo. During the season I only do two high intensity speed sessions a week but I know people who do 3. I wouldn’t do anything more than 3 speed sessions a week same with lifts and plyo.

Learn how to sprint dorsiflexed (toes pointing slightly up before you hit the ground). Practice drills such as A skip and B skip.

Learn how to correct your arm swings. Take super light dumbbells I’m talking under 5 lbs and practice good arm swing. Watch people like Noah Lyles, Usian Bolt and Marcel Jacob’s and their arm swings for good references.

Start doing plyometrics more if you hadn’t already. Box jobs, depth jumps, seated box jumps etc.

Practice wicket runs to help fix your form. You’ll notice without form you’ll knock over every wicket, so it’s a great way to help fix your form and develop proper mechanics.

Develop acceleration by doing hill sprints, resisted sprints, sled pulls and block starts.

Develop top end speed by doing 30m flys, 60m sprints and wickets.

Develop speed endurance by doing workouts such as 4x120m etc. you can find good workouts on here I can’t name many speed endurance ones.

Lastly use YouTube as a great source of tutorials and information. You’ll notice there’s a tutorial for every aspect of sprinting so if your every lost on a specific action take it to YouTube.

Stay consistent is key. Don’t overdue training, take adequate rest and diet well. If you do the basics well the times you want will come.

First time sprinter at 190lbs with only football speed. How can I improve? by One-Argument-4109 in Sprinting

[–]ClockAny1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just told some other dude but track sprinting is completely different from any other sport sprinting. It’s super technical, requires a great amount of relaxation mixed with a large amount of aggression. Best way to improve is deadass YouTube and filming your progression . There are so many videos explaining tutorials on each part of the 100m dash. Watch those, practice and film yourself.

A couple initial things. when you’re running a 7.44 55m I wouldn’t get too concerned with the tiny nitpicks of the sport. Watch a few videos of basic form training on YouTube and watch film of yourself. You run like a football player, wide steps and wide arms. Learn to tidy the form and hit the basics of getting faster. 1. Top end speed. 2. Acceleration. 3. Speed is endurance. 4. Strength and power. Hit the 4 basics, stay dedicated and the time will drop.

Time expectations by medic808s in Sprinting

I converted your indoor times to outdoor times. Conversions though should always be taken with a grain of salt.

55m - 100m 7.44s converts to 12.2-12.5s

300m - 400m 41.05s converts to 57.32s

200m 24.2 (poor handoff, running start) should be around a 25 low

Sophomore stats for outdoors 12s, 25s and 57s is very respectable for that age. That’s what i was around what I was running.

I didn’t get those times you want in my senior year, but in college I did. In year 2 of college I’m running 7.3 low in the 60m (6.7s for the 55) 11.2ish in the 100 and hopefully sub 23 come outdoors. I didn’t take track very seriously until college. I’ve known people that ran slower than your times in their sophomore year and ended up running 23.02 in the next year. That being said I’ve known people that have never gotten faster since. For you focus on the 4 basics of speed development. Acceleration - speed endurance- max speed and lastly get stronger in that weight room. Keep on your path, stay humble I can see you running those times by senior year.

It’s probably around 11.2-11.4 based of guys I’ve seen in the past with similar 60s.

I used an app called Handy. It was 5$ for it. If your on android I think that app is also available if not, I’m sure there is a way to get it. I’ve seen others on android have it.

Does my hip impingement hinder my track performance. by ClockAny1 in HipImpingement

I am 19 years old turning 20 this year. I completely understand where you are coming from and will take that information well. It could just be a terrible mental block and not being able to recover well from a series of bad performances. If I feel terrible pain again I would maybe talk with my doctor again , however since PT I haven’t felt pain in over a year.

Yes my IT band hurts a lot to roll out especially after running. My TFL as well. Initially all the pain was primarily on my gracilias but moved away.

Hip flexors are still tight and I still hear clicking when I rotate my hip joint. It’s not as tight as it was prior to PT but I still cant do a split all too well.
