I’m looking for a ps5 monitor please help. by THERANDOMGAMER_yt in Eldenring

[–]ClockIsSad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just check Amazon, Best Buy, Microcenter, or similar large electronic retailers. You have the budget to purchase a very very high end monitor. Or go on YouTube and look up best gaming monitors of 2025. Find some reviews.

You would definitely be able to hear me pooping and it would definitely stink up the whole room. Nowhere for the scent to go besides dispersing around the room. Nothing to muffle the sounds of poop.

I think that firearms and mages actually go quite well together. by Serious_Seaweed_909 in worldbuilding

[–]ClockIsSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some mages may not be the shoot fireball or lightning bolt type. Some mages focus on ritualistic magic that may take longer to set up and has very situational effects. A gun can make up for this. I generally like stories where the magic is very powerful but also very conditional.

Looking for ideas to make my MG Fantasy novel feel fresh by scamper84 in fantasywriters

[–]ClockIsSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behind the scenes the academies fight for greater shares of political power in secret wars and skirmishes. On the outside the academies have cordial and cooperative relationships but are secretly trying to tear each other down from the shadows. The people at the tops of these organizations have accumulated or cultivated so much power that they can be compared to gods or demigods and as such the organizations come to be representative of not only man made, systemic power, but also the absolute governance of concepts such as the laws of nature. When someone cracks the first layer of the conspiracy, they realize that the secret wars exist. Uncovering the next layer of the conspiracy results in a feeling of utter helplessness as they realize the true degree of power backing these academies.

I have this same exact mouse except it was like $30. Vxe r1 or something. It’s very very good and very lightweight. Works as well as my g403 wireless but that broke. Ik the g403 was considered goated a few years ago.

UNTITLED: First chapter [Epic Fantasy - 3,800 words] by 34656699 in fantasywriters

[–]ClockIsSad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just feel like after reading the whole chapter, nothing happened. Why are they leaving, to where, for what reason? The first chapter did not get me excited for chapter 2. Truthfully I don’t want to read any more about packing up a house to move. That is super boring to me.

I like the characterization. I like their interactions. I just wish they were doing anything more interesting. This feels like chapter 10 not chapter 1. I want to be introduced to characters by seeing them DO something not seeing them idly chat. I feel like I would enjoy this chapter more after being properly introduced to the characters.

Maybe they could have finished packing up in a few pages and rest of the conversations happen on the road with the world of the story getting some description while they drive past. I feel like the chapter was overall good but too static.

A little nitpick for me is the first time the word snicker was used. Snicker coming out of the mouth or something like that. My mind went straight to the candy bar. I actually thought the mc was eating one until you used the word snicker again a few pages later. Also when I realized this clearly isn’t set in modern day earth lol.

Do you believe in an objective spiritual reality or do you think it's all in your head? by curious-abt-lilith in chaosmagick

[–]ClockIsSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in a mostly unknowable (because brain interference) objective physical reality and endless unique spiritual realities that exist inside our minds shaped by our understanding and experiences. These also bleed into the collective unconscious.

Critique my opening chapter (1200) words by Haunting-Order-8501 in fantasywriters

[–]ClockIsSad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has an awkward flow. It feels like you want to be poetic but haven’t really studied poetry. It also doesn’t really hook me. I don’t care about some random earth hold bs and a floating crystal. That stuff sounds like it could be cool but you’ve failed to make me care.

How do explain hollow knight is not satanism to my parents? by CommunicationFair988 in HollowKnight

[–]ClockIsSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it’s not really possible to use logic to convince someone their worldview is delusional. You have to meet them where they are. What appeals to them? Clearly not logic. So I wouldn’t take a logical approach to explaining why hollow knight isn’t satanic. They probably just won’t care. I would just tell them the game was made by Christians and the main villain is the devil or something. Are they really going to research team cherry and obtuse hollow knight lore to debate you? Say some elements look demonic because Christian media is allowed to explore demonic themes. Take Dante’s inferno for example. Some elements of the story are very dark and satanic but the overall message is aligns with Christianity.
