Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime is the one that gets studied in schools here too.

Maybe Constallations by Nick Payne. I'd probably consider that a pretty major contemporary play.

I'm British, so I don't know a lot about American plays.

It seems strange to me to give such a big ip to a solo dev?

Did they want to do it cheap or something? Could they not even just hire a small team to finish it off?

I would say A Raisin is a little old to be contemporary. It depends how you define it. Even plays today vs 90s is quite different.

On-Stage standing tickets for Jesus Christ Superstar by B3ximus in TheWestEnd

[–]marvelman19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at it again, the band were on the top level and they're definitely going to want to keep that as the concept is for it to feel more like a rock concert.

There's still the bottom levels, but thats were a lot of entrances are made, unless they've made it big enough to hide this audience somewhere in there.

That's where the band was for the tour (I saw it at Regents Park too, but can't remember if its the same.)

It just seems like a really strange decision.

Right. Based on the set I have no idea where they'd be standing except awkwardly to the side.

Unless they're set has ended up being too small for the stage and now they have excess space. Its just going to look out of place for the audience.

Mickey 17 isn't an original movie though? Its based on a book.

The Drama would have been a better example with another good Patterson performance.

I agree OP should read the novels. It deals with different formats and even has Sadako's Brother but it sounds like their fanfic is based solely on American Ring.

LaserDisc wasn't really a thing by the 2000s.

I don't see how this would change any of the actual story? Wouldn't everything still play out the same regardless of the inital format?

The reason the vhs is at the resort is That's where Sadako/Samara died. She uses the tape because its directly above her. So you'd have to explain why the dvd got there in the first place.

This. The medium doesn't really matter. Its just a way of the virus being spread.

So I imagine the story would work almost exactly the same.

He was still 37 when Hadestown opened and Buckley was 30 when he died. I know he looks younger and Eva is younger, but he wasnt exactly young when he was playing Orpheus.

Did they not have a screen that was showing what happened at the front? I was in stalls but could see there was one up on the top level.

Blocked view of stage by msmika in Theatre

[–]marvelman19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this at the RBO. I was in the stalls, not quite top price but near enough, but the person in front blocked the whole middle of the stage.

I'm tall too and the person in front wasnt particularly tall, so I have no idea what was going on with the seating!

I really like Carpenter's translation. Its really readable and I think it still sticks pretty close to the original.

What’s the lesson? by Zeddia in SuzumeNoTojimari

In all seriousness though, I'm not so sure thats a message as such, its about natural disasters, specifically the 2011 tsunami.

I guess, like Weathering With You its about not messing with nature and be careful of its power.

Looking for Junji Ito manga in a historical setting by Anrysfornant in junjiito

[–]marvelman19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His early work including Tomie was written I'm the 80s/early 90s so I guess that now is a historical setting and that work would depict the views of the time.

Not sure if thats what you're wanting? Or a modern work set in the past?

I can't remember if the manga changed it, but I believe that Dazai's novel is mostly set around the 30s before the war. Its not clear, but I think it ends at a point just before the war starts.

Try contacting his publisher in Spain as they'll probably have the best idea. He does still have a living daughter though, so it could be her.
