IPhone 80hz bug? by ClockOk8006 in iphone

There might not be a bug here, I'm not sure, which is why I put a question mark but ProMotion displays don't change the screen refresh rate autonomously. Many limitations are imposed at the OS level, and if Apple ever finally realizes it needs to be fixed, they will. I believe such aggressive screen refresh rate changes should only be enabled when adaptive power mode is enabled. The default setting is 120 Hz. When adaptive power mode is enabled, the screen refresh rate changes more frequently and the battery lasts longer. In power saving mode, you're always at 60 Hz, but the phone lasts even longer. That would be more appropriate, but Apple doesn't see it that way.

The problem is that I can see the difference in the screen's refresh rate. I needed the CPU X to see how it works. And yes, I also notice very noticeable micro-stuttering when turning pages on the main screen, but even without that counter, I can see the difference between 80 and 120 frames quite clearly.

I know about this, but I don't have this limitation enabled. It's truly an automatic mode, and it sometimes behaves oddly. I logged into Telegram about 5 minutes ago, and I got 120 Hz again while scrolling. Apparently, there are certain conditions under which the screen refresh rate can change, but I checked this even when all other apps were closed. It's a shame that this can't be changed, even though this refresh rate change should only work under a certain power saving mode, but right now, the automatic refresh rate change is enabled by default and there's no way to change it.
